![]() ![]() ![]() I disagree. Personally, I was never a huge fan of the theatrical posters for the film (I didn't care for how Darkness holds Jack & Lili in his hand like he's the puppet master, having ultimate control over them). I'm glad that the cover-art is what it is, and it actually makes me more eager to want to purchase this when it comes out. I'm usually not a fan of photoshop jobs, and most of the time I prefer the original poster art, but this is one of the rare instances in which I don't. |

As far as I know they are the same cut. I had a Japanese laserdisc back in the early 90s of the European cut that was eventually released as the "Director's" cut in the US.. but neither is the full Director's cut that ran 150 min.

Looks like it. The 2 features alone would be 3 hrs. and 26 minutes, so hopefully this doesn't lead to any issues.
Also, it looks like based on the press release that the theatrical version is getting English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 this time, when it was just 2.0 on the last release, I believe. |

That is correct concerning the audio. The Director's Cut got 5.1 DTS and Dolby Digital while the theatrical was stuck with a Dolby Digital 2.0 track. |

Initially there was only two cuts : US with Tangerine Dream score, and Europe with Jerry Goldsmith score.
The DVD premiered the Director's cut which was basically the European cut, but with many tweaks. So in essence, a complete box set should hold all three cuts inside one box. The two original "archival" cuts, and the DC. The reason the DC never appeared on european soil is that the original dubbing (french, italian etc) were all done to the original european cut. There's probably the fact that this movie sells probably only a few copies, (Blade Runner it's not), and some contractual obligations too... |
