From the previously-linked Savant review of Faceless Man, a round-up of remaining UA monster movies:

Quote:
What 1950s United Artists creature features are not yet on Blu-ray? Well, there’s The Vampire (not bad), The Flame Barrier (barely a movie), GOG (great, due next month in 3-D), Invisible Invaders (announced; dire but loveable), The Manster (weird and worth it), Red Planet Mars (insane but marvelous), The Twonky (pretty dire), Riders to the Stars (great but film elements-challenged, anybody got a a good print?), The Magnetic Monster (a masterpiece, relatively speaking, and also coming soon), The Lost Missile (weak, but good acting), and The Black Sleep (a bit tepid but a cast to die for). And finishing up, add the aforementioned Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake, Pharaoh’s Curse (not that bad), Voodoo Island (yes that bad, even with Karloff), The Man from Planet X (a mini-classic), The Return of Dracula (good) and I Bury the Living (very interesting).
He neglects to mention that Black Sleep is coming from Kino on 3/22. Are I Bury the Living and Four Skulls still with Shout via Timeless? The rest all appear to be with MGM proper.

From this thread in the German forum:

And I am very proud to announce that from February we will start the third series, which is called – You guessed right – THE REVENGE OF THE GALLERY OF TERROR.

And we start off with an absolute cult classic: Jacques Tourneur’s NIGHT OF THE DEMON

I’m guessing everybody is familiar with the movie, so I won’t bore you with the synopsis, but rather concentrate on what will make this release a must-have for all collectors:

Not only will the film be released on Blu-ray and DVD (both are included in the set) and both discs will include the longer UK version and the slightly different edited US-Version, but we managed to get a couple of bonus elements that you will – to my knowledge – not have seen on any other release.

Here is the full list

- commentary track with filmhistorian Dr. Rolf Giesen and Uwe Sommerlad (German)
- dokumentary „Speak of the Devil“ (featuring lead actress Peggy Cummins and productiondesigner Sir Ken Adam)
- Super-8-version
- British theatrical trailer
- reproduction of the program of the Braunschweig Filmfestival (who had hosted a Jacques Tourneur retrospective) (german text)
- picture gallery
- 20-page Booklet written by Uwe Sommerlad (german text)

I am proud beyond believe that we managed to license the documentary, that was produced by Hammer historian Marcus Hearn, and which to my knowledge has never seen the light of day before.

NIGHT OF THE DEMON will be released on the 26th. February 2016 and comes together with a box that offers space for the other 9 titles that are part of the REVENGE OF THE GALLERY OF TERROR. The edition with the box is limited to 1300 units. But after those are sold out we will continue to sell the Blu-ray/DVD set of NIGHT OF THE DEMON without the box.

What's that poster on the side of the Anolis box there? It looks familiar to me, but I can't remember what it was. I was thinking "First Man Into Space," but google images suggests I'm wrong. The top is clearly The Giant Claw!

War of the Satellites! I randomly just pulled out my Shout Corman sci-fi triple-feature and saw it on the reverse cover's poster collage (which I actually have facing frontward since the Not of this Earth art is so incredible.) I wonder if Attack of the Crab Monsters might then be one of the remaining seven? Be still, my beating heart!

Same here, I wholeheartedly agree with Savant's description of it a 'mini-classic' - the fog-shrouded sets, the inspired (if not entirely convincing) Scottish setting, and the eerie-looking, pint-sized alien himself, only able to communicate through musical sounds (foreshadowing Close Encounters), all work together under the economic yet inventive direction of Edgar G. Ulmer, one of the true unsung greats. Here's the Trailer from Hell:

Speaking of trailers, don't forget that the second post in this thread is chock full of 'em, along with a few documentaries and links/resources.

No word yet on English subtitles for the commentary.

I contacted Diabolik to see if they might be carrying the Anolis box, and they're looking into it.

Here's DVD Drive-in on Curse

(Before a mod says anything, yes, I will of course link the site reviews for all of these when/if they're posted online)

It's a crime that War of The Worlds (1953) still has not been released on Blu. What's holding that up?

I believe it received a HD broadcast a couple of years ago, but that's likely as good as it will get, sadly, as Paramount doesn't 'do' classic catalog titles.

I'd love to get The Killer Shrews, The Giant Claw, Attack of the Crab Monsters, and can't wait to receive my pre-order of the Japanese release of The Thing From Another World on Blu-ray. Does anyone know if the German bd of The Killer Shrews has an English audio track?
