Caught it this week. Thought it was a nice, slow burn. Just like I like 'em. I think a potentially huge opportunity was missed with Graham Greene though. How many sentences did he have in the movie, two? I could have used about ten more minutes of him scattered throughout, amping up the creeping dread, adding some First Nations context to the creature as we went.

Yes, for a creature based on Native American folklore, there was a strong lack of Native Americans.

Didn't the same thing happen to Graham Greene in the Twilight film?

No. Antlers is 1,000 times better than that POS.
LOL...well, I liked it. How did they got Patricia Clarkson to do it is my question.

My GF and I both like seeing and supporting offbeat / genre indie films. We went to see Wendigo at the Detroit Film Theatre. We both hated it. It was boring, nothing happened, and it felt like it was three hours long.

It's also one of the worst theater experiences in my life. The DFT is a restored old theater, with small, hard seats. Absolutely no legroom. So I couldn't even get comfortable enough to fall asleep, LOL.

Antlers is great. I'll be buying the UHD!

I want that Antlers t-shirt that Regal is selling on their website. They want 25,000 credits and that is way too much. They have it in my size. I am hoping they reduce the amount of credits needed to buy it.

I've been eyeing it too but yeah 25000 credits is too much for me (although I noticed the Stillwater shirt costs the same amount).

Better hope they release a UHD overseas or you’re gonna have to settle for UHD on digital. Only a Blu-ray release has been announced for 1/4/22.

The Protégé t-shirt is 6,200 credits, but they don’t have my size (adult large). Otherwise, I would had ordered that one.

Don't know if you noticed but they dropped prices for all of the T-shirts. The Antlers T-shirt is 20000 credits now.

The Antlers t-shirt is 25,000 credits. I was hoping it would be 12-13,000 credits. They still have my size.

Hmm I guess it was a 1-day thing then. They dropped the prices for the Stillwater and Protégé T-shirts and those are still cheaper though.

Don't know why he and Adam Beach are Hollywood's "go-to" Native American actors.

Looks like this hit VOD on December 21. These release dates can be difficult to find and confirm as legit.

I thought this was a miserable, dour experience. It's actually a heavy drama about child abuse disguised as a folk horror metaphor about mankind's destruction of nature (plus something about the opioid epidemic to boot). In short, it's a confused and pointless slow-burn that is neither moving nor remotely scary. Rated 2 stars in the poll.

I thought this was great. Atmospheric and creepy. Great score and the 4K looked amazing.

Watched this in 4K last night and I did like it overall. Hard to believe this was meant to be a 2019 release. The cinematography was very good. A dark and brooding mood was well established. Effects work was impressive. Had never seen Kerri Russell in anything outside of her cameo in the final "Star Wars" film as Zori Bliss (a Bounty Hunter). Thought she did well in this role as a concerned teacher of a student whom she identified with. Was shocked to see Amy Madigan as Principal Booth. Remembered her fondly from "Uncle Buck" (1989). As for Native American actor Graham Greene--I wasn't sure who his character was or why the Sherriff was involving him with Police work to begin with. Seemed like an afterthought for as small of a part he was given in this.

I liked it slightly more than you but I definitely agree with the core of your assessment.

Very depressing movie, and IMO, if you're going to make a depressing movie better make it really good and really original. I dont think its either. Its not bad, but its not good. I will admit I liked the Javier Navarrete score quite a bit

I think it's a perfect set up for the lore. His presence wasn't emphasized, he just added context and then went about his day. Came across as respectful imo.

As to the story, the only thing that bothered me:
[Show spoiler] Julia killed it too easily. That was so disappointing considering how strong and brutal its attacks were on everyone else. She should have barely survived.
That scene where Daniel was confronted in the shed was incredible, though.

I have a code for this if anyone wants it.
