I definitely wouldn't wanna watch a movie on VHS or DVD if I don't have to, and I definitely want the film presented at its best in HD, that would be the definitive way to watch it. I find it a little odd when people insist on watching grindhouse movies in lower resolution formats. But I wouldn't mind an HD scan of a beat-up/rough print as an extra. If there's only enough budget for once scan, I'll easily take the one that makes it look its healthy best (preferably from the negative, of course). At the end of the day, preservation is most important.

My initial thought was to go with the Bridge cover, cause the other covers look worse to me (the zombie face and splinter itself look really bad/fake), and I like the image of them moving into the city in the background. It's kind've epic, but the color scheme makes me think of World War Z a bit. Now, I'm not very sure. The splinter cover is nice because it's an iconic horror moment, but it also spoils that moment. The zombie worm face is also iconic, but redundant since the original poster is underneath inside the case sleeve. I kind've wish there were no slips or only one so I wouldn't have to decide! Or that one was the clear winner of the bunch. It's probably between the Bridge and the Splinter covers. I wish I could get both slipcovers and one set. Is the new art on the case insert too? Or is it just the slipcover?

About to place a pre-order. Are the covers a Diabolik exclusive or will these be the standard covers elsewhere too?

It's an iconic scene but imo it makes an awful cover. I think the covers are all bad but the first is the best imo and also iconic - the final shot of the film (of course it's also a spoiler). The bridge in the background also likely makes the 3D lenticular cover work better than the other 2.

Could it be that Amazon won't sell these because there are multiple covers and will only sell it once those covers are sold out elsewhere and BU releases standard versions?

Unfortunately I cant argue against you here. The compositing looks like crap. If I was buying (which I still might do), I'd go Lenticular.

I was going to go with the zombie face but that lenticular effect looks ridiculous with the eye opening and the way the worms are popping out.

I just ordered the bridge one a few minutes ago. I'm glad someone posted the updated pictures with the lenticular effect of each. I thought the zombie cover was going to be the one for me until I saw the lenticular effect. It went from first to third.
