They really should drop it and focus on their HDTV's more, as all the good manufacturers (Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, etc...) seem to be doing a lot better than Toshiba when it comes to HDTV quality.

I knew once they canceled their CES party and conference that they were done, but wouldn't admit it before selling as much of the already produced hardware as possible.
The firesale began right after CES.

I don't want Toshiba to drop hd-dud yet. They aren't in bankruptcy yet.

All the HD DUD fanboys are secretly hoping that Toshiba makes the announcement on Feb. 29th that way they only have to be reminded every 4 years.

It was done behind closed doors just before CES. Just won't be official until they can unload more of the already made hd dvd players.

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...op_HD_DVD/1468

This is taken from the Hollywood Reporter article:

"Software sales have declined as well. The latest Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales data show the top-selling Blu-ray Disc title for the week, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's "Across the Universe," sold more than three times as many copies the week ending Feb. 10 as the top HD DVD seller, Universal Studios Home Entertainment's "Elizabeth: The Golden Age." Blu-ray Disc titles also accounted for 81% of all high-def disc sales for the week, with HD DVD at just 19%."

I think this topic is spreading faster than the WB announcement, but I'm all for it! I think the more the subject is talked about the more likely it is to happen *fingers crossed!*
