I got an email from Treyarch today with a beta code for COD:WaW on Xbox360.

WTH, right?

Yes, I'm registered on their site and made my initial token posts but I also _did not check the box for Xbox360_ when it asked what systems I have!

So, how did this happen?

I do not know. I also have the 'send me offers and info' or whatever box unchecked so they aren't supposed to every contact me except in administration emergencies.

Curious.

Regardless, looks like I'll be playing this on my buddies Xbox360 a little earlier than expected. I'll try to give some thoughts back here if anyone cares.

What's even more Ironic is I do have a Xbox360 and pre-ordered the game 2 weeks ago from Gamestop and still haven't received a code yet and I'm also registered at COD.com. I have a friend at work that used to be on COD.com and was sent a code yesterday without even asking for it. Now, I'm really wanting to play it and have to listen to him at work tell me how great it is. Now thats Ironic. If anyone has a code and would like to share I would really appreciate it.

Go to Gamestop.com/codbeta and put in your info. i just put in any transaction number and my email..did it for a few emails and got sent 4 codes.

I also got one from COD.com

I also just received my Beta code from Gamestop. I pre ordered the game on Tuesday for the Xbox though, not the PS3.

If you check the COD website you will see that there is no PS3 beta for COD WAW. I still registered on the website and 3 days later i received a beta code for xbox360, like others i never selected Xbox360 on the registration form, just ps3.. weird.

My buddy was exceedingly aggravated that I got a code and he didn't given he _did_ check the Xbox360 box, lol.

Either way...

Yep, it's COD4 exactly but with crappier weapons.

I can't say I'm very excited.

The only cool thing is the online coop option now even though it's pretty limited.

I played the BETA for about 3 hours last night. I personally think the game is just as good as COD4. The 3 maps you play on are very detailed and layed out well. I don't mind the weapons at all. Of course they're not as good as the weapons in COD4, but then again, we're playing in the WWII era.

There are some known glitches already and of course people are taking advantage of them (going underground in some of the maps). Still, I had a blast last night playing.

All I can say is that this game is different. You can't really compare the two because the pace is different. The perks are interesting and the dogs are just sick. The maps are bigger too. I like it and I'm going to be buying it.

I was just looking at some videos of this game and yea, the online is basically like cod4 but ww2.

and i heard you can climb trees now? i might just buy this game after all, might. who does the main music theme to this game? is it still harry greg williamson? i like the main theme of part4 and hope for a similar experience.

Theres a glitch on one map where you can go under the whole thing and the only thing visible is the very top of your head. I hope this gets addressed soon.

The game is perfect in Hardcore. In regular modes the weapons are a little weak but in Hardcore it's very realistic. The dogs are awesome and so is the artillery. When one lands near you you move slower and everything shakes. I'm only level 11 but the max is 24 so I got my work cut out for me.

The rifles act just like G3's so people who are good with that will love it.

The Devs know about the glitches and they are working on them to be fixed in the final game, but will not be fixed in the beta. from callofduty.com
