Default Call of Duty: World at War - The giant, CoD W@W Zombies !

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/06/09/...-world-war-ii/

http://maximumfear.net/2008/06/09/ca...-world-at-war/

The game will utilise the same engine that powdered COD4, with a few tweaks, such as being a pyromaniac, with the ability to burn down houses and foliage.

The game will take place primarily in the Pacific, in which you'll be fighting the Japanese. You'll also fight as the Russians taking on the Nazis.

Treyarch are promising that this will be the darkest COD game and are doing the best they can to make this one brilliant. Unfortunatly, the 360 is the lead console again, which might carry over a few flaws from Treyarch's last COD game, but we'll see how they get on soon enough.

im just not excited about this going back to the WWII theme.

Out of all the awesome games coming out in the next 18 months, I think Im going to have to pass on COD 5.

I agree with stockstar1138, after playing COD4 with its modern setting I don't want to go back to WW2; how boring!

The only thing I dislike about info coming out about this game, is that they have down little to imrove online play.. still no lobbies, no real clan system, no in game ladders or what not..

best online game out right now with worst online lobby system, and they have done nothing to improve that.. I probably will not even buy this game..

I love World War II shooters, but they have been done to death. Modern warfare is where it is at now. And treyarch bah cod3 sucked I didnt buy it. My son got it for his b-day and I played it and hated it. I have played cod4 almost evereyday online since it came out. I think I will pass on this one. Only thing saving it is that it is in the pacific fighting japanese. MAYBE.

Well do you think that you might pilot an old WWII plane over the Pacific for a fresh change to the series?

Wow, so Treyarch had a chance of redeeming themselves from CoD3, and they use the CoD4 engine, but they go back to WW2? The reason most WW2 games set in the Pacific dont do well, is that they just arent as interesting as the ones set in Europe. Going from jungle island scene to jungle island scene is just not fun. It should have been set in a more modern setting, at the very least, maybe a korean war game, or another more modern setting.

Call of Duty 2 is the ONLY WWII game to play. If I wanted to play a WWII game I'd just load up Call of Duty 2 on the PC, they should just re-release that but in the COD4 engine haha

I have played COD2-4 and, had I played COD3 first, I would never have played another COD game. The fact alone that it is being developed by the same team...or at least the main developer...would mean I'd pass this up with no regrets. COD2 and 4 were great games and, I've been playing COD4 since it first came out and still play it all the time.

Sure COD3 sucked... but COD4 was good enough for me to give COD5 the time of day no matter who makes it... I would hope for their sake they are putting everything into it knowing they have big shoes to fill.

So wont go ballistic and crap on it entirely just yet. I loved COD2 on 360 so I dont mind ww2 theme ... I went hard on GRAW2 & COD4 and will on socom confrontation... so by the time COD5 gets here I will prolly be happy to switch back from modern to WWII theme for a lil while ... as imsure GRAW3 & COD6 wont be themed that way.

Skipping this! Come on after playing cod4 every other cod sucks! We all know who dies, who wins, who loses, whos with who, who helps, cause and effect in WW2. Unlike COD4 where you wonder what what side everyone is on, Good Russians, British, Americans, Bad Russians, Middle East, etc. BTW what is with the every year a new game in each franchise that is not even better then the last million.

Why don't they do WW1

Would be awsome seeing everyone in the trenches then all getting the order to go over the top! seeing gun fire and wounded around you! they could do wonders with the enviroment to with rain and mud slowing everyone down!

Ah well, ww2 again "woop woop"

I'm glad you enjoyed CoD2, but personally I found this game to be an embarrassment to the CoD franchise that at the time was represented by the gems of the Original CoD and its expansion pack United Offensive.

The original tried to define itself as something new and step away from the total chaos MoH style multiplayer so common in that day. CoD2 and all it's follow-ups seemed to revert back to that insanity and abandon the wild success achieved by the first one. CoD was and still is incredibly popular, but CoD2 was a sad day for me and the dawning of a dark age in CoD gameplay. CoD4 did see some improvement. I enjoy the new one, but nothing like good old CoD1 and UO.

Hope I didn't sound like a dick. I just get very emotional when it comes to my memories of CoD.
