Just defeated my first dragon, and ooh what an item for a prize.

Kind of a bummer. Regular edition due to arrive today, but I will return it. Bigger bummer is that my wife will be out of town from today until Friday, but CE doesn't arrive until Friday.

Bigger bummer casting inferno between a allied force and a enemy force...

opps I did it again...

Inferno is the last tier for fire magic, its a cast on big *ss circle and creates a large pillar of whirling cyclone of fire.. Which will most likely make you start putting it on easy to prevent from wiping your team.

Mind blast is a mages friend for when you get bum rushed it stuns everything in the mages personal space, unless the enemy rolled out of it.

It doesn't work well on dragons or abmoinations, but works wonders on demons...

Of course my favorite spell is the crushing prison spell it creates a prison around an enemy and crushes them.. if it works they cannot move and it can usually kill some lower boses..

HO$Y Maker...

Apparently when you connect your game to bioware it attaches to your bioware account and you can pull up information on your character.

Check this out from there bio page on my character.

There's a section in the back that has the origins of the noble factions, Ferelden's past, and interviews with the development team. Not sure if the standard guide has this or not. Can anyone confirm? I just got it because I prefer Hardcover over TPB.

Hmmpfffff.

(Simpson's geek voice) - everyone knows that RPG perfection was obtained with Neverwinter Nights.

When NWN2 came out I HATED it. Please, enough with the 3D crap, please for the love of God bring back a tile based system!

I think Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn was a much much better game. NWN had a very disapointing campaign. At least it had some amazing tools to make your own adventures.

Haven't played Baldur's Gate although I plan to - I even bought a Mac Cube awhile ago so I can run it at the fastest speed possible under OS 9

So I can't really comment on the storyline, but in terms of the interface I truly believe NWN was unbeatable.

I'm enjoying this game a lot... Now.

I gotta admit that the whole first 10 hours or so was a little slow (well, a lot slow) and I almost put it away in disappointment. Way too much wordy dialogue in the beginning and the boring items and lack of fundage for anything (even a pot) was retarded.

But, after beating Broken Circle and the Urn quest (did it before redcliffe even), things picked up. The dragon fight in the urn quest was probably the best fight in the game so far. They seriously need A LOT more encounters like that one. Flemeth's dragon was *****in' too but didn't have the good loot drop.

For those who can't find the beauty staff from the collector's thing, it's actually in the shop in your party camp (after you save that dwarf merch on your way out of lothering). That dwarf sets up shop in your party camp. The staff costs around 6g and is a steal at that price since weaker staves are a LOT more. The remainder of the blood armor set is found in this shop as well. You'll need some gold to get it all but you should have plenty by the time you have the str stat to wear it.

Game has really picked up as I wrap up Ogrimar now... I'm happy. I just hit ESC a lot on dialogue and take the short talk path a lot now. WAY too freakin' wordy. I just want more big dragon encounters and crazy boss fights like that (broodmother was pretty sick too). I love the really long and just grind em down boss fights like that with all the specific tactical stuff going on.

I did find a lot of bugs (in my PC version at least).
[Show spoiler] It's wide publicised that you can get infinite experience with the tube of blood thing in the first area; however, I found that after the urn quest if you walk outside you get the made xp bonus... Well, if you go in the secret door back to the frost mountains and go in and out over and over you can get that experience over and over. It's A LOT of xp too... levels fly up fast. Kinda chinsy how they over looked this thing. There's also a bug where lorium pots disappear if the toon that created them isn't in your party at the time but it seems to only happen sometimes and with no pattern that I can discern.

I just realized that the Collector's edition is not a Steelbook! It's a metalpak which is a steelbook ripoff. Very disappointed in this as metalpaks are pretty inferior.

Neverwinter Nights the base game was terrible, with a slow boring campaign and no real sense of accomplishment.

*IF* you got into the modding and the online stuff it was a good game.

If all you wanted was a single player experience NWN was probably BioWare's worst game to date.
