Agreed, and also agreed with Saving Private Ryan.

I feel it's worth mentioning the new Friday the 13th. Despite it being rather crappy, the beginning was pretty awesome.

Not sure if its been said yet, but the opening to the "Way of the Gun" is hilarious.

or they could just throw it at you when you go to walk out the door. If i had a nade in my hand it would have followed the joker when he got on the bus.

I went OVERBOARD!

As others have said X2's Nightcrawler Opening was Brilliant!!! Beethoven playing in the background
(Side note: definetly the best movie out of the trilogy which was why I was so dissapointed at the rushed X3...It was still good; but could've been SO much better if Singer still stayed for just one more!)

Scream's Drew Barrymore intro/opening was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I consider it a Classic with Barrymore OWNING that scene all by herself. Great performance and great direction by Wes Craven!

All of P.T. Anderson's movies are great...but their opening's are even BETTER!!!!
Magnolia's coincidences opening and intro to characters
Boogie Nights one shot intro to charcters
There Will Be Blood's no dialogue opening
Punch-Drunk Love's morning opening

Saving Private Ryan's D-day scene...INTENSE!!!!

Guilty Pleasure but...Bring it On's Opening Cheer...SO GOOD!

Children of Men - just a taste of how many one shot gloriousness we'll see in the movie!

Eyes Wide Shut - Nicole Kidman...Beau-ti-ful!

The Fall Opening Credits...just watch that on BLU!!!!

Finding Nemo Intro - I remember watching this and feeling very affected by the opening intro. Once the title cards and score begins after the intro you could almost shed a tear.

Hairspray's "Good Morning Baltimore"...doesn't waste time going into a big musical number!

Lion King intro...EPIC!!!

Narc's brutal opening chase

The Ring Intro...out of all the PG-13 movies I've seen this movie is the ONLY one that surpases tension and personally I would've given it an "R" rating...Brilliant!

Unbreakable's opening...again, once that awesome opening score and title card begins after the intro I shake my head and say HOW COOL THIS MOVIE IS!!!

Watchmen was certainly one of the best this year so far and so was F13.

Most of the good ones have been covered, I always thought the opening of True Lies was pretty awesome. Arnold as a spy has to fight his way out of a mission gone bad

The opening sequence in Children of Men really sets the tone for the entire movie, as does the grandiose and dark L.A. cityscape opening of Blade Runner.
