You make some valid points. I think this game will be reviewed very well, but will sell less than a million copies and be a fail financially.

I think you are wrong when you say this game is geared towards 10-14 year olds. Maybe the animation is, but the idea and complexity of this game (it truly will be one of the most complex games ever made), is litterly geared towards very innovative thinkers, more like the 18-50 year old in my opinion.

levels will take a long time to make, I plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours on a level that I create, which I know can be tedious for a person with a short attention span and will hurt the game as not that many people will want to take the time to make an awesome level and there will be a lot of crap out on the internet.

Playing levels will not get boring for a while, due to the massive ammount of user content for this game, however, there might be a ton of crap levels that you have to pick your way through, which could make the game less fun.

I don't think this game is overhyped, it brings something revolutionary to console gaming, and is something completely brand new that could be awesome if executed correctly. I do have a few doubts though if it will be done right, or if we are going to have to wade our way through a ton of stupid levels that have items shaped in phallic symbols and breasts.

Well I dont really trust the media at the moment they gave haze, alone in the dark, the bourne conspiracy, dark sector , jericho, kindom under fire and alot of other games across the board on many different game rating sites VERY bad reviews and these games are actually quite good. Some games getting a really high score dont deserve it and are over rated. I guess we will wait and see hopefully LBP is really good like I said the more good games the better regardless of what system

I do agree about it being hyped a little too much.

At AMAC I never thought of it that way you are defintly right and now that you brought these items up I have the same concerns as you. The amount of good levels vs crappy ones. I would be the type of player who wouldnt want to create a level that takes multiple hours. I just want to play them. I dont have the attn span you are right. If there are alot of user developers like you who can keep up with the demand of people who just want to play and not build (like me) that would also help the game excel. Hopefully there are enough of those people that want to design lots of levels for us to play like you then =)

Maybe to help you weed through the crappy levels they could have a ranking system on levels? What other game can you think of that is similar to this game anyway? It is something that is supposed to be different than other games and the user created levels characters will be great. It just like the wii. It's not heavy on graphics like the ps3 or 360 but it is something different and innovative that all age groups can and are into.

After beating the developer-made levels you can play the highly-ranked user created levels or levels recommended to your by players you trust.

At Miguel - Good idea a ranking system for levels is needed for sure how they will do this I am not sure. Maybe user review feedback on a scale of 1-10 of how good the level was and we can also see how many people have downloaded the level sorta like how many people view a web page or something for popularity. This is just one of the many issues LBP will have to work out. Like filtering morons who put in inapropriate content

They've made it pretty clear the game has ranking in interviews, trailers and so on.

I think you should make an effort to clue yourself up about the game before making such bold statements to be honest.

halo is over hyped, this game is just being recognized for what it is...a good game. how do you know its not fun? did you get an early copy? can i come over and play? every magazine, and game website that "played" this game all say the same thing.....the game is going to be fun. and what the hell does having 3 games for ps3, and 35 for xbox have to do with this game? you and a-mac2848 are so sure this game is going to fail, and he says this

Actually...

Most of the hype has been from the end user community. Not so much from PR marketing (though there has been a good deal of that, agreed).

This game will be huge. No question. Did you not notice the Killzone plushies?! Even hardcore shooter kids will want this for stuff like that.

If you doubt the viability of this type of 'sandbox', or whatever, Web 2.0 type share everything project, then simply look at Spore. That game is blowing up and it's not even out yet. The creature creator alone has generated about 1000000x more content than the developers ever envisioned at this stage! The game will be a huge success.

LBP is very similar in the 'build it yourself' and 'play it with it others' approach. It will work and work big. It is ultimate expression in gaming.

Oh yes, LBP will be big and have a monster community (no pun) behind it.
