This movie had potential, but it times seemed like a complete rip-off of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. A little more creativity by the writers and this could have been a successful movie.

Complete rip off is pushing it, there are a few similarities but most of those lie with the father character.

I was wrong about the first one. Admittedly, I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes during my first watch, but overall I was impressed by the whole after I decided to bite the bullet and give it another go. It's a by-the-numbers affair that's elevated by the excellent direction and the gorgeous visuals that kick in as soon as Lara leaves London. For a film of this type it's strangely lacking obnoxiousness and the heroine is endearingly decent. I expect that to change in the sequel.

Anyway, I give it a good 3.5 / 5.

Saw this for the first time today and I really enjoyed it. Vikander was so good, it's amazing how physical she was...she's really tiny. Can't wait for the sequel.
