Yeah, any attempt to connect 4-6 to H20 assassinates Laurie Strode's character, and that's not taking into account the logic holes.

Luckily today we have the internet to help make sense of it all.
at the time I saw 4 and 5, there had not even been a 6 yet, let alone an H20, and I thought it BS that Laurie was dead, I didn't buy into it, I thought there was more to the picture than what they were showing, then when I heard that there would be a part 7(H20) and that Laurie would be back, I said to myself "I was right" then when H20 did come out, I was disappointed because they totally ignored the previous 3 movies, damn

Well, she is a bit crazy in H20. Works for me.

So let me get this straight. The only movies that will now connect with each other as apart of the main story are Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2018). No Brother-Sister relation.

Halloween 2 (1981), Halloween 4 (1988) , Halloween 5 (1989) , Halloween 6 (1995) , Halloween: H20 (1998) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002) all belong in their own alternate universe. A timeline of events deleted from the big picture where both Michel and Laurie ARE related.

and then of course we have Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009) which again belongs in its own world separate from the other 2.

Like I said, I haven't even seen 4 & 5. Never really had any interest, but I did catch 6 and from what I could make of it, I thought it was pretty shitty. I also saw H2O and didn't care much for that either.

As far as I'm concerned, only Carpenter's 1978 classic is a great film, with Halloween II as its worthy sequel. Beyond that, it's a franchise desperately attempting to stay alive and only doing so because of die-hard fans that believe there's more to the series than there really is. No sequel or reboot has or ever will capture the tone and atmosphere of the original film -- it is a timeless annual autumn holiday staple that can't be imitated or reinvented.

Hey, it's all just a matter of opinion. Get over it. My opinion poses no threat to the possibility of you getting more lackluster sequels.

No more sequels please, i'm not a troll i'm a truthful/honest person as i believe in myself. Just let it die after this one as they milked this dead cow for too long and you all can't accept my two youtube friends Ocpcommunications and Ramboraph4life with me views on why they should let iconic horror franchises/classic 80s and 90s horror icons rest in peace in favor of fresh new horror franchises/fresh new horror icons? and you want more of the same instead of new ideas for horror franchises/icons like the Conjuring and having Annabelle be a new horror icon to more new icons like Wolfcop, Tucker and Dale, Captain Splauding and more? now Tragedy Girls is an excellent horror comedy satire that should had have a wide release in theaters and give Hollywood good ideas.

I mean Scream died after 4 when it should had RIP in 2000, Saw died in my view in 2006 with 3 as they should had ended it with the last movie The Final Chapter and last year they tried to make Saw come back and no one gave a damn as it bombed big time and gave Lionsgate the message.

I like those 2 reviewer's podcast episode of Celluoid Nation episode 3 as sometimes dead is better(Let the Horror Icons R.I.P.) I agree with their controversial rant on youtube urging studios and audiences to just let iconic horror franchises and their icons rest in peace and move on and try to find new ones. With comparisons to Universal's bottoming out of their own icons, the Universal Monsters to the Slasher boom and fall of the 1980's, and on to the recent trend of remaking, retconing and sequelizing NOES, Halloween, Friday The 13th, Saw, Child's Play, Leatherface, Hellraiser and Scream.

One person on here actually supports me and Ocpcommunications/Ramboraph4life's cause as it is better to let these iconic franchises and their iconic horror stars slumber in peace than to constantly keep bringing them back from the dead in search of profits and old glory as by this point they are being turned into jokes.

Make new horror icons. That's how Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Chucky, Ghostface and Pinhead came to be in the first place. They weren't just different versions of the Universal Monsters all over again. They were unique in their own special ways. Horror needs unique icons again. Not the same tired old ones force fed to new generations like they are still as cool as they were in the 80's and the 90s.

They had their time in the sun. And they have earned their retirement from the genre. So let them all kick back and relax. Bringing them back constantly is only going to hurt their legacy. Not help it. It's sad but true. Time to move on.

But if you and Jay are gonna see it, fine, go ahead! i have no problem, i don't have any problem with that yet me and those 2 fellows i mentioned don't understand or get it but there are some supporters of those 2 reviewers who agree with their podcast even reaction to Halloween 2018 trailer even myself whom i agree with on enough is enough and won't pay to see it in theaters and rather wait for it to come out on blu-ray or netflix to rent to see it for curorisity. There's already a Halloween 2 and i got the REAL Halloween 2 made in 1981 at home in my boxset and i can watch it for free. I'm gonna gonna pay for anymore fake Halloween 2s as i was burned out on Halloween after Resurrection and Rob Zombies remakes. Jamie Lee already came back and she did in H2O when it should had been the last one then they lied and killed her off. Jamie only doing this for a paycheck and not enjoying it from the looks of it as she is probably getting tired of this at this point. Looks like a lazy uninspired rehash of 1, 4 and H2O and i can't take it anymore.

Sometimes dead is better like Jud Crandall said! i'm done here with this argument.

this is going to sound very rude of me, but I think repeatedly bringing up your youtube friends as if we are supposed to be caring about their opinions, almost makes it feel like your 10-14 years old(that's not meant to be derogatory) I respect your opinion, but you don't have to keep trying to re-enforce it with these youtube dudes, you mention their opinions, great it's nice to hear about other opinions, but they aren't here sharing them, and you keep bringing them up, good lord if people care about what those guys have to say, then they will take a look on youtube, and if people want to , that's great, but at this point it's like your trying to shove them down our throats like something massively inappropriate! I'm all for you talking about your feelings on this stuff, but please, stop bringing them up, if your going to be here, expect to disagree with other people, as long as it's civil, it's fine, but this bombardment

it's also a moot point because we will never not have sequels and remakes. and a lot of casual moviegoers will wind up seeing something they recognize. so even if every horror fan didn't go and see this, it's a new horror movie in october. of course a lot of people will see it. I don't expect this to make IT money, but I feel this could have the best opening of any Halloween film.

I will wait to see this movie (which I am tremendously excited for) before deciding if there should be any sequels to it.

Even if this one is good, be careful what you wish for. The good sequels (H2, H4, and H20) led to pirates, cookie women, Men in Black, Druid cults, incest, and kung fu fighting rap stars. So if H'18 is really good, and wraps everything up nicely, it still may be better to leave well enough alone. (At least until the next reboot.)

Den, I completely 100% respect your opinion, but I do not agree. I do not want the golden age horror icons (Freddy, Jason, The Shape, Leatherface, Pinhead, Chucky, etc) to end, and they certainly won't now that they have reached the plateau of the silver age Universal Monsters. New horror icons are attempted all the time, but it is not the fault of Freddy and Jason that the majority of them don't stick or reach the highs they reached. There's room for all the icons, Dracula and Frankenstein will continue and Freddy, Jason and The Shape will continue as well. I'd have it no other way.

I just don't understand the reasoning for wanting the 80's icons to end. If you want new icons then support new horror films, and if you are no longer interested in the 80's ones then stop watching them. That's pretty much all you can do since no one will be swayed either way.

Cookie women and pirates? I'm afraid I need a refresher as I have no idea who in the heck these are in relation to Halloween.

As for sequel talks. Danny McBride has said that a 2 movie deal was planned but was shelved until reception for this movie comes in. If it is a hit, we may get another sequel set in this timeline. Or, maybe we wont.

“Cookie woman” refers to an advertisement at a liquor store in Halloween 5 that showed a drawing of a woman with cookies for boobs. It was what Jamie was describing to Loomis when she was sensing that everybody’s favorite character, Tina, was in danger and wanted to let them know where she was. Eventually someone figured out what she meant by “cookie woman.” Personally, this is one of my favorite parts in Halloween 5 due to Loomis’s delivery of the line, “Cookie woman?” with a perplexed look on his face.

As for the pirate, Jamie’s awkward, stuttering friend in Halloween 5 wears a pirate costume.

Anyway, regarding the idea that studios should focus on making new horror icons and franchises, what’s the point? If someone is against franchises having multiple sequels, where do you draw the line? It’s not like studios can always predict which sequels will be the most successful and keep selling tickets before one of them bombs. I don’t know why someone who’s a fan of horror franchises even thinks this way. The point of them is by definition to make money. It’s very difficult to constantly keep creating brilliant horror movies, a couple worthwhile sequels, and then move on to the next thing purely to let them go out with a bang and be a perfect series. If that’s how someone thinks, I don’t know why they like sequels in the first place. I also don’t know why anyone wants a constant influx of horror icons. I can inderstand wanting to watch original and effective horror movies, but when you start taking about franchises and icons, you are already in the territory of studios milking them. Otherwise there wouldn’t be any sequels.

[Show spoiler]Ooh, A special cameo appearance by Paul Rudd as Tommy Doyle getting killed off by Michael Myers in the new movie would be cool. Tommy Doyle doesn't necessarily have to be played by Paul Rudd again but it would be cool just the same.
