Finally picked this up for $4 with a coupon, since I haven't seen it since the theater. I did enjoy it more this time around, but I still don't care to see any of the characters again except Owen. Unless they make them more interesting.

After the backlash over Howard's character I would guess she'll be an ass-kicking super hunter in the next one.

Yeah but they'll probably overdo it, and it'll be annoying.

I liked Owen, but I'd chalk that up to him being played by Chris Pratt than Owen actually being a good character.

More Star Wars apologists exist vs JP series fans.

Because this, like The Force Awakens, isn't a rehash of the original. Not by a long shot.

Grant wasn't hired to keep the "exhibits" in control or train them.

Ellie wasn't in charge of the park.

There isn't a Malcolm character runing around throwing cynicism everywhere. The closest you get are sarcastic comments from Owen.

There isn't a lawyer telling kids not to touch things or being eaten "politely" by a T-Rex.

There isn't an empty park where experts can come in and pass judgement prior to opening.

There isn't a confined space that the heroes get trapped in nor do the kids have to outwit Raptors. The T-rex also doesn't deus eX machina at the end to be the hero, Claire has to let her out.

The only thing this movie "rehashed" was the gate which was refurbished with Jurassic World & brighter colors and Lowery is essentially Ray Arnold.

But go ahead and throw out that A movie is a rahash of B movie or C movie is a lazy version of A movie. That's what most of this generation does anyway instead of really critically watching a movie for those notes.

Its not me who is saying this BTW im just picking up on something that both movies have now received

I love this movie thought it was very entertaining
it was just something I picked up on when reading reviews for both movies JW was given bad points in some reviews for that problem yet the force awakens reviews hardly picked up on it

This is on HBO next weekend so finally get to see it.

With the crazy aspect ratio this uses they wont have to change the pic much at all.

Yeah, I think the AR is a little random. It was unique but I feel like they should have just committed to 1.85 or 2.4.

They should have kept it 1.85:1 like the other films per Spielberg's original mandate.

You just told the story of this entire film.

As much as I liked it, the direction was just horrible - instead of just committing to making a Jurassic Park film, the director tried to be "arty" and different for the sake of being different too many times and it weakens the film. It could have been a truly great film if it wasn't trying to subvert expectations and the director wasn't acting like some film school student trying to show how subversive he could be.

I keep holding out hope we'll find out that "creative differences" have happened and he won't be directing Episode IX...he best not try this shizz with Star Wars. Jurassic World was as good as it was in spite of him, not because of him. Blech.
