I wouldn't be surprised if the phenomenal success of this first part brings the A-listers out in droves for Part II. Not saying I necessarily would want that, though. I think I'd prefer newcomers, and letting Bill Skarsgård remain the only real "star" of the series.

I'd love to see Amy Adams play her, but I reckon it'll be Jessica Chastain. Barbara Muschietti has teased it on numerous occasions and Andy Muschietti worked with her on Mama.

Maybe, if the date is into horror.

My initial fears over Andy Muschietti directing this have mostly been quelled at this point, given that I've been wholly impressed by the trailers. The resoundingly positive reactions from those who have seen it have helped as well.

Every once in a while, though, I have to remind myself that I thought the second half of Mama was hilariously awful garbage.

I hate being this excited for a movie, because it almost always ends up in some level of disappointment. I can't help it, though.

Won't be able to watch this until the week after it opens. Not only am I working throughout the weekend, but my brother is also interested in seeing it, so we'll try to take in a showing mid-week.

All horror films are good date movies, they're the ultimate litmus test; as in if your date doesn't like horror films, stop dating her.

That, I'll have to ask since I don't know yet.

True. Last time I took a girl out to a horror movie was 2013's Evil Dead. It didn't affect her at all and nothing came out of it.

Cool

Stephen King Reviews ‘IT’!!

King has already seen Muschietti’s film TWICE, and he raves about it at length in a new featurette video, King also praises Bill Skarsgård’s performance.

Never trust King's opinion on movies adapted from his work...he praised that cinematic abortion The Dark Tower, remember.

I'm sure It will be good, but King's opinion is the last one I would trust.

I can't help but find all the criticism of Stephen King's criticism towards his movies funny. I think it is clear when he actually thinks a movie is good compared to when he just likes it. Of COURSE he's going to like "The Dark Tower," I mean, think of the paycheck he no doubt got from that film. And whether it's crap or not, he got an Idris Elba and a Matthew McConaughey in one of his films instead of some D-list straight-to-video star. He's probably thrilled.

"It," though, feels different. If you listen to his critiques, it's stuff we all have noticed and are concerned about.. I think we can believe him.

The cinematography of this movie looks gorgeous, maybe the best of a horror movie since the original Halloween, the only other that comes to mind is GET OUT.

Which will make it all the more disappointing if it isn't really good.

I thought Get Out was a satire?

I kinda find "Get Out" to be equivalent of "Scream." Satire, yes, but still scary.
