Prometheus came out today over here, but I don't get paid until tomorrow, so I'll be getting it after work tomorrow. I've never seen it and I've tried to avoid reading about it. I love Alien and Aliens, and I have seen the other two a long time ago, but don't really remember them. I had the first two on BD, but I sold them when I went broke. I've been trying to decide whether to just rebuy the first two again, or buy the Anthology boxset. Do you like 3 & 4?
Buy the set! I watched Alien last night..and the night before. Rarely can I finish a movie on a weekday.

The Director's Cut of 3 is very good, much better than Theatrical. The fourth, not very good but fun, still better than AVP but not by much.

Says the guy with the Alien avatar.

I would really like to get the Alien Anthology set, but right now Best Buy has Alien and Aliens on sale for $9.99, and with the upgrade and save promotion going right now, I could get them for $4.99 each. Money is ridiculously tight for me right now, so I've been thinking about getting just the first two, but I think I might just hold off until I am in a better financial situation and get the set.

Yep, kinda like that movie.

Do the single editions have both cuts?

They are the exact same discs that are in the Anthology set, so yes.

I like Outland very much mainly because of the sets, the story is a bit short i think. Mr. Connory does lift the actors performance up a bit even though not he's best actor role.

I feel the same way trying too avoid reading about it too as i fear the big moments are going too be few.. I'll try and enjoy every second.

The only one of the Alien films i really like are the second one (Aliens) then it's the original because of all the first timers but it really is slightly boring if you aren't in the mood imo. 3 and 4 seem half hearted but alright if you're a fan i guess.

I just picked up Prometheus. I'm really excited to see it, but I have a friend coming over in a little while to jam and party, so I'll probably hold off until tomorrow after work. I haven't had a beer in 5 days, and I plan on having several tonight, and I don't want my first viewing of Prometheus to be a drunken haze.

I really love Alien and Aliens both. I don't think the first one is boring at all. I really enjoy how it slowly builds tension. I see the first one as more of a sci-fi/horror/thriller, but the second one as more of an action/sci-fi.

Thanks Tommy.

I guess I better go get ready for my jam session/party time. I'll check back in later, but by then it might be better to not be around here.

I think I'm one of the few people around here that likes that show, that's actually read all of the books. One thing I learned by reading them is that they're not finished. GRR Martin supposedly has 2 books to go to finish it. He takes 5~6 years to write a book, and he's really fat and old, so it might not ever happen. That would be one of the major disappointments of my life, as silly as that may seem.
