That's my exact thoughts on the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot and 2014 Robocop remake and Lion King remake from 2019, like New Coke as in bland, tasteless and lifeless. All obvious hollow cash-grabs with no passion, soul, energy and spirits of the originals when obviously the classic formula always tastes better.

The 2016 movie was a disaster! no likable or engaging characters, shitty script, unfunny humor that lacks any wit/quality subtle humor as the original, lame one liners that aren't memorable like the lines in the first 2, lacks the fun of the second movie, the villain was lame as both Viggo and Gozer are better villains who had charisma and all as the "basement loser" had none of it. The score was forgettable, the performances were awkward plus sexist towards men with the constant man-bashing parade of making all male characters look like idiots, jerks, wussies and ass holes and all as the cameos by the original cast were cringe worthy as Murray and Ackroyd looked like they didn't want to be in the movie. Poor pacing too as it felt like 4 hours as i don't give a damn about the characters and find everyone not likable and not to mention the logo as the villain as it gets shot between the legs and i'm not kidding.


There was no passion or effort or any love or respect for the franchise in the 2016 as it was just a soulless cash-grab made to cash-in on the property. Feig said he was never a fan of the property but only did it for a paycheck as i can tell with the writers and all that no passion or respect for the franchise was made as no true fan of the material would ever want to insult the franchise.


Here this new movie looks like there's some actual effort and true respect for the franchise instead of insulting it like the last movie.

I would ask how you knew what p*ss tasted like, but I don't think I would like the answer.

The Ghostbusters remake wasn't a good idea, but it had a great cast and director. It didn't work. Some remakes do and some don't. Either way, the original is still readily available.

The same thing applies to Ghostbusters: Afterlife. I think it looks awful, but maybe it'll surprise me. Regardless, I can watch the 1984 original whenever I like.

I watched the one trailer, it's intrigued me by being both a continuation but different.

I won't be watching anything new now until I'm sat in front of the movie. I don't need any more reveals or spoilers, I'm enticed enough already to buy a ticket.

The only good the remake brought was Ecto-Cooler back on shelves...and that didn't even last.

Its a bit disappointing that the old characters are not in the movie much but that is what I expected.

Hmmm. I guess it depends what a little while is to him. It’s definitely more than a cameo. Maybe he means as a group but they each appear separately leading up to that. He’s talking about wearing the equipment so that confirms they suit up and fight again.
