I think it was the fact that I was speaking the truth, replied with a sensible response...oh and I’m anti-legislation.

A few people have had their equally sensible posts removed on here lately regarding the subject.

Hive mind.

You know, it just occurred to me that with all this self-isolation people are being forced to do, now might be a good time to invest in Trojan stock

I’ve felt the same way about those threads as well. I started a thread asking about this very thing a couple years ago. Good but brief discussion there.

That totally sucks.
In these times we need more people like him, not less.
Hopefully it’s a brief absence.

lol zip it nappy-headed Anna Kendrick!

I might be dropping another G on a watch tonight. I wish THE FORCE was here to talk me through it. He'd probably talk some sense into me and tell me to spend it on more important things like toilet paper and Taco Bell

Dude! Wait a month or two for the sales. Unless you have Macy's Star Rewards to burn that expire soon.

Or unless you're afraid Macy's is going under, they're not exactly, how would you say... well-positioned in this economy. But they're also not going out of business tomorrow.

Well I did have $100 that I had to use by March 25th but I already used it on a Citizen that I got for my friend.
You've shown enough interest in my predicament so now you have to hear it. Sorry, not sorry!

1. Macy's has a 25% promo on several brands and the three that I'm most interested in are Mido, Rado and Raymond Weil.

2. Bloomingdale's has Raymond Weil watches at 40% off but they have about half the number that Macy's offers.

3. At Bloomingdale's, I do have a promo code for $100 off a $500+ order and one for 15% off but unfortunately they don't stack.

4. I think the watch that I really want from Raymond Weil (blue face on silver mesh band) isn't available on either site and while I can order it from Raymond Weil, I would be paying the MSRP of $1,595.

5. Macy's does have a two-tone scheme on white dial that I like but this is the most expensive watch I would be considering at $2,095 MSRP. I'd get 25% off but damn that's expensive.

Macy's does seem to have a lot of promos so it's likely that I could see this discount again but I can't say for sure. Not all brands are eligible every time they have a promo. I never thought it would get to this but I'm kind of hooked

I didn't see your second comment about Macy's before. Just tonight, my friend who I bought the watch for was telling me that he heard from his nephew who is a banker in NY. Apparently Macy's (the whole company) does about $500,000,000 in sales a week and this week they were only at $15,000,000. Still, I would have never guessed they sold that much each week but I guess so.

I'd be incredibly surprised if those 3 stores didn't have extreme sales within one or two months time.

Also, the answer is none of the above because none of those are rice and beans, and because I don't know jack-all about luxury watches.

I don't know much at all about luxury watches either. I'm learning a bit as I go though. I joined a message boards called watchuseek.com.
I was surprised to hear that Rolex is not considered one of the Holy Trinity of watch makers. Apparently that club consists of Audemars Piguet (heard Jay-Z shout it out), Vacheron Constantin (heard Rick Ross shout it out) and Patek Philippe which I have not heard a rapper shout out yet

You may be right though. It may not be a bad idea to wait a bit and see. The last watch I bought was my first Raymond Weil piece and while I thought I was getting a pretty good price at 20% off, Bloomingdale's does have that same watch for 40% off. I was going to take care of it and get about $275 back but the day I was going into action, Macy's closed due to the coronavirus.

I'm going to shut down for the night and hope that the prices are the same or even lower tomorrow

First time I filed my taxes electronically this year. The H&R Block lady told me I could have my refund in 2 weeks but with what's going on I think it'll be longer. I've waited about 6 weeks the old-fashioned way so I won't lose any sleep if I don't get it in 2 but I don't know if I'll be employed next week. Scary times.
