It simply means you're assuming.

Man I'm sorta glad I missed out on the furor over this. I didn't really care enough for the movie to want a steel of it. Sort of like Godzilla. Sucks for those that missed it though and Best Buy needs to do a better job with these releases. This sort of stuff is happening way too much now.

Remember guys we do have a trade forum located here.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/forumdisplay.php?f=48

Please use that as to avoid clogging up the main threads.
I don't mind members trying to help members. But if possible use the PM system.

Thank you guys

If you pre bought the steelbook with that plastic card, do they save a copy for you?

I know. I pre-ordered in-store and they didn't save one for me. I was lucky they found one hiding. Not doing that again.

It blows. I was on vacation when the steelbook came out. Haven't had time to get to BB to get it. Hopefully some miracle happens today or if they actually did hold one for me.

If they're just handing out refunds and a $10 gift card, I'll be satisfied. I'll just have them price match the 3D version and pay the difference. It sucks, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

I preordered the SB because I knew I'd be out of town on business on the day of release. I took my preorder card and receipt to the store on Saturday fully aware of the shenanigans with their in-store reservations. As expected, they were out of stock. CS offered me either my money back + a $10 BB gift card, or I could keep my preorder and my name could be added to a list to receive top priority if/when the next batch of SBs arrive.

Unfortunately, the CSM couldn't confirm an exact availability date, or even if another batch would come, but acknowledged that it was a corporate-wide issue and BB has been in contact with the SB manufacturer to make more. She took my contact details and gave me her business card.

I'll wait another 1-2 weeks and see what develops -- better that than paying eBay prices for this thing. It definitely sounded like Option #1 was still on the table if no additional copies of the SB are forthcoming.

That sounds like nice CS. It'd be nice if the distributor makes more.

That's why I didn't buy it from Best Buy; they'd all gone.

I'm pretty sure they did but just told you that to not have to deal with the whole we sold your pre order thing haha.
I'm sure they got them in and like most stores didn't bother to pull the preorders, put them out on the shelf and they were all sold. Then as people started calling in to see if their preorder was there they just lie and say they ever got them in.

Just stopped by BB and got a refund. The girl at CS was a huge catch you next...you know.

I'm just going to import the Australian JB 3D steelbook. Cheaper than ebay!

In the long run why does it matter where people buy their SB's from? If they enjoy them really that is all that matters imo.
$65+? I've gotten all my Asian steels this year for under $50 shipped each. It's definitely more expensive but like you said in another post you get what you pay for.

I saw someone that paid $80 for one of these. It may be valuable for the moment, but if you're willing to spend that much, you might as well wait and use that money on a premium steelbook package (with the 3D disc).

That was probably only the first week since the basically messed up. I'm sure at this point they will just give you the refund and be done with it.
