Think if it happens for the 30th anniversary it WOULD be with a theatrical release in mind. To justify it's updating, then get a UHD blu-ray few months after. And it would certainly help to have Peter Jackson grease the wheels in this space by updating Gollum and other small CGI fixes in the LOTR: Fellowship, for UHD -- You would assume well before 2023.
I am aware that the home video market does not cross pollinate with the theatrical one, I was just attempting to emphasize that the Jurassic Park franchise is very alive and marketable. A VFX update (and very likely theatrical rerelease; you are correct there) could easily be justified, but I have zero faith in Comcast to even take the smallest risk on a property, even one as venerable and classic as Jurassic Park.

You are also right, getting off topic haha. I’m about 14 hours or so away from getting my steelbook, along with Fury and The Matrix. It’s gonna be a flurry of 4K action this weekend.

So just finished JP1. I was thoroughly pleased. Sure sometimes the CGI had a smidge of softness to them, but overall I thought the transfer was fantastic. Really great DTS:X track too. It seemed to me to be the same track that Gary Rydstrom re-worked for the 3D release which is funny since this transfer kept some of the goofs that were removed for the 3D release (the T-Rex Attack seq. car flipping wires remain in this transfer, but the Dilophosaurus fan wires are still removed). Also, am I getting on the late train in noticing that clips from JAWS are playing on Nedry's computer during his argument with Hammond? Great release though. Very happy thus far.

Does each film get its own digital code or is it one code for all 4 films?

For Canadian version, does the digital code port to 4k? or just regular 1080p?
Besides, does the UPHE redeem and port to US itune account?

Out for delivery

Amazon.ca dropped to $49 for the set. Had to call Amazon.ca to adjust price. At first they said no, I called back and they did it for me. I’m losing my patience with amazon lately. What’s the point of pre-ordering if they are going to lower the price significantly on release day.

Got a screenshot of timecode: 06:31?

It's a close up of bones and sand. Couple of seconds later we see the complete skeleton plus location text.

Not available in my city for pick up. But is says if I order now I can have it by June 27th. Thank goodness I ordered over the weekend and should be here by Friday. (I hope.). The closest places for pick up is in Michigan. I wonder when this will be shipped out? It's still in the processing stage.

I do, too. You just have to be ok with the high likelihood of scratched discs.

The book is really nice, though. I am somewhat tempted to change my mind and try to build a scratch-free set. I'll probably have to go pick up the steelbook, just in case.... It was not easy to get a scratch free set for the Friday the 13th set and it was impossible for the Mummy set.

What is the difference between this 4k collection release and the steelbook collection in 4k? The only difference I see is the price. I want to make sure before I go in to the store.

I would cancel my order for the steelbook and get the regular 4K/BD but my luck the steelbook would be more sought after. Plus the standard has a book and the steelbook doesn't. It's a trade off.
