This release is so strange. Not only with the delays but some other major chains like Walmart, Target, Meijer, etc don't even have it in their website. Guess I'll have to wait till after Halloween to watch this gem.

I would have preferred a box set including 1 2 3 jam packed with extras including the unrated cut of 1. which why I’m not buying this bare bones release of scream 1 because of how important that movie was for the genre. it deserves better than that.

This delay is pretty standard for Paramount these days. Over the past year, everyone else has seemed able to meet their release dates, for the most part, but not Paramount. Regardless, whenever it does arrive, I'm looking forward to it!

Me too but the PQ was so bad on the Scream Blu Ray, I couldn't turn down picking up a 4K release. Hopefully the sequels or a box set follow suit. Drop them a message requesting a 4K box set. Can't hurt anything.

I ordered it from Target weeks ago and just got my email today saying it wouldn't be available until Nov 2. Not too bad, but I'm surprised you couldn't find it on their site...

Target and Wal-mart have a listing, they just don't seem to show up in search. But if you search with google, you can find them - both are sold out/no orders, though.

I too was hoping these would just magically appear somewhere today, for in store pick-up, etc. Bummer that they didn't.

This has nothing to do with it tbh. They shot anamorphic under specific conditions giving the film a "soft" look in places. Swapping out the first DP with Peter Deming wouldn't have caused anything detrimental regarding "original picture quality" to take place.

I did notice a lot of softer shots when I saw the theatrical screening last week. A softness that wasn’t seen in every single scene but sort of came and went. I wouldn’t be shocked if those were why they fired the DP, assuming this softness wasn’t Craven’s intent or someone higher up said something. I believe the majority of the film was already shot and I don’t think they reshot anything either.

Had a flick through the remastered BD kinda half expecting to think it would as good as the UHD (minus the HDR) but even remastered it's not a patch on the 4K disc in my opinion. The BD looks very "dull" in comparison and lacking in detail compared to the 4k.
