Age of Calamity actually plays at a locked 30FPS on this instead of 15-20. Would be great if it got a resolution/60FPS patch so that all Switch Zelda games were now 60FPS with resolutions 1080p or higher.

Closest was Nvidia Shield since it was the Switch SoC (or a variant), but that obviously had an Android experience instead of a Nintendo experience. Too bad Nintendo didn’t make one.

There doesn't seem to be many parents buying a Switch 2 for their children since we're in early summer, miles from the holiday season. It still remains to be seen whether or not parents are going to be willing to drop $500+ for a console, in addition to high prices for accessories and $70-80 games for their children for Christmas or other holidays. That's going to be a tough well and I already have parents in my own family skeptical of spending that kind of money on another Switch console - especially in the near future, where most big first party games already have or will have a Switch 1 version, which their kids already own. Even if Switch 2 ends up getting more like 100 million as I think more likely, I think it'll be more of a "slow burn" sales wise, where the console starts off somewhat slow in sales for the first few years due to high prices, but ultimately sells quite well in the long-run as prices come down, similar to the PS3. |

It's summer with a high price point and realistically ONE must have title. Let's wait until the bangers start shipping. Doing pretty well considering.
I've actually decided to give Echoes of Wisdom another try since bouncing hard at launch and I'm not sure if it's the recent inventory patch or performance or both but I've really gotten into it this time. |

I decided to just go ahead and play through Age of Calamity in full. I bought the DLC way back when but never actually played any of it. Did my first Divine Beast level last night and no 15FPS there like on Switch, rock solid 30FPS.
I’ll probably finally fire up Mario Kart once I am done with this. I don’t feel a rush to jump in there since I know its something I’ll be playing on and off the entire generation. |

I also had my own go at Breath of the Wild's Switch 2 version despite never playing it on my Switch 1 beforehand. It's a bit opening but hoo boy it's easy to get lost at the beginning. Once you do unlock the Switch app features it gets a little easier. |

It's pretty crazy just how much better Breath of the Wild feels on Switch 2. I'm hoping to have a similar experience with TotK, since I didn't really enjoy that one and I think a lot of it had to do with being worn out with low res and frame-rate of these titles. They feel like new games now.

Well, if there's one thing I'll give Nintendo credit for it's reducing my expenses on games for the next generation. Though it is still depressing seeing all these great RPG franchises going with the key cart BS. At least we'll probably have a few years of dual Switch/Switch 2 releases so I can at least buy the Switch physical copies.

It’s probably best to just assume anything not published by Nintendo will be a key card until/if they make smaller cards available. And even then, as long as the keycard is available most publishers will choose it. Things won’t be going back and there will largely not be an impact to sales in my opinion. The diehards will hold out (or at least claim so online) but the general public won’t care.
Funnily enough, Sony have gotten good PR from the actions of Xbox and Nintendo lately despite their own attempts to continue punching themselves in the face. |

It’s just the deluxe/collector’s editions that they have been doing that for. The standard retail editions are all on disc.

Really the Achilles heel for the NS2 in terms of third parties and my willingness to buy these games. For something like Street Fighter 6 I can understand a Game-Key Card, as the game is constantly evolving and getting new characters and therefor it would never be complete on cartridge anyway. But all these JRPGs like Disgaea 7 and Trails also getting these crummy plastic codes is a bit disappointing. I hope these have very bad sales and Nintendo produces smaller Gamecarts asap! |

The Game Business: "Most third-party Switch 2 games posted very low numbers. One third-party publisher characterized the numbers as ‘below our lowest estimates’, despite strong hardware sales." Cyberpunk 2077 was the best selling 3rd party game at launch |
