I only ever have a single copy of a film in any given format. Once I upgrade a DVD to Blu-ray, the DVD disappears.
However, that being said, because of the 2 differing steelbooks released by FutureShop, I have 2 copies of Hunger Games. However, that will change once I see how they continue to release the franchise. In the end, I will only have 1 copy that best matches the entire set. |

On the same format? None. I don't want the same disc but with some fancy packaging.
That being said, I do own a few movies on more than one format. -Blue Velvet (Blu-Ray and Laserdisc) -King Kong (DVD and Criterion Laserdisc) -U2: Rattle and Hum (DVD and UMD) There are also a couple of movies that I have on Blu-Ray and DVD for the special features (Reservoir Dogs, Mallrats, From Dusk Till Dawn...) SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE has to be the big one for me. Over the years I've purchased:
1. Laserdisc* 2. VHS 3. Bootleg VHS of ABC television edit 4. Original DVD boxed set 5. 2006 DVD boxed set 6. Single release Blu-ray 7. "1978-2006" Blu-ray collection *I feel like it's important to note that I just bought the laserdisc within the last year, ha. Granted, some of those mean that I also own SUPERMAN III and IV a bunch of times, too, but I think THE MOVIE is still king as far as my collection goes. As far as sheer money goes, though, I think those damn LORD OF THE RINGS movies probably have it beat, though. I have the individual theatrical DVDs, the extended DVD box, the theatrical Blu-ray box and the extended Blu-ray box. Because they were all purchased instantly after becoming available over the years that's like, a million dollars. Last edited by Steve Lilley; 04-25-2013 at 09:55 PM. |
