Im not getting all the TPS hate either. Theres only so many game mechanics devs can use. Change and tweek things here and there, but not every game is going to reinvent the wheel. Im totally fine with established mechanics as long as everything around them is solid. Art, graphics, and Story have a much larger impact on a game for me than if its an rpg, tps, or fps.

Just because it's a TPS cover shooter doesn't make it another Gears of War clone.

I'm sure RAD have worked very hard on this project and the videos clearly show that they have, so I'm more than confident that The Order will go above and beyond and give us a unique experience.

I can tell just by looking at it that we're in for a real treat.

- no commentary.

Honestly, Lair was a shit game but I've always liked Heavenly Sword. I thought it was a decent game. I do have high hopes for 1886 though & there is nothing currently out there aboot it to show me that it's gonna flop.

This game looks gorgeous, ambitious, and awkward at times.

Still looking forward to it because it will an interesting experience but hoping from some cool gameplay elements.

I'm really looking forward to it. I enjoy 3rd person shooters more than FPS. Something about seeing my character on screen is appealing to me.

I don't get these kinds of statements. Are you really unable to conceive a game that doesn't involve shooting guys from cover? There's an infinite number of things that haven't been done. Until it's been done, it hasn't been done. Of course, when you're blowing hundreds of millions of dollars on shiny PS4 graphics, you can't afford the risk of innovating gameplay. So we get another 3rd person shooter with a fancy new coat. Meh

"SIGH" so this is where we're at now? If a game dares to do ANYTHING that's already been done before and doesn't completely innovate and reinvent the wheel then it should be criticized?

Of course I can conceive lots of games that doesn't involve shooting and finding cover. But guess what? This aint one of 'em! This is a 3rd person action/adventure game! Yes, the genre has already been done to death but this is a fresh IP, a fresh story, a fresh presentation, on a fresh console! It's all good! IMO people who criticize this game for simply BEING a 3rd person shooter is just reaching for something to ***** about. Anyone who saw the unveiling of this last E3 should have known where this game was going.

If a game brings nothing new to a genre that is completely played out? Absolutely. Is expecting some degree of originality unreasonable?
I don't think they showed gameplay at e3 did they? Either way, I didn't know it was gonna be this much of a standard-issue cover shooter. Let's hope the story/presentation make up for it (it's kind of sad when the most tedious part of a game is the actual game), or there's some twist to the gameplay that I'm not seeing.

I agree. Didn't see enough gameplay to make any kind of judgement, but holy hell, those graphics...

For a game like this the originality comes in the story telling, the characters, the locations, etc. Bioshock Infinite wasn't all that innovative in its gameplay either but it was a fantastic game! Besides that how in hell can anyone judge anything about the gameplay in 1 minute of footage?

I must say the gameplay looks fantastic. I could care less whether it's first or third person. As long as the story and game play is good who cares. Bring it on.

80% isn't mediocre at all. Heavenly Sword was a pretty damn good game.

You saw like 9 seconds of actual gameplay, hardly an indicator of how the full game is going to play out. Of course there's going to be more to the game than duck behind wall, shoot human, rinse/repeat. It's strange how people seem to think they have the entire game figured out with hardly any gameplay shown.
