Besides, what reason can there possibly be for not having UV? Shouldn't the UK rights have been considered when everything else was negotiated?
Well you're right in everything you say, but I don't think Warner takes the UK into consideration these days. Just think, nearly all their catalogue releases don't get a UK release, you have to import them...just as well they're multi-region.

I agree. I don't think we've ever had a UCE type set which matches the US.

But if we all complain, maybe it will but a rocket up their backsides and maybe then they will take the UK into consideration.

Doing nothing means the status quo will simply continue - or more likely get worse.

Amazon has now come clean about the lack of a UV copy:

This Item Does Not Include an Ultraviolet Copy
Please note that the Ultraviolet copy that was previously listed for this item has not been included in the final product.

Someone on another site complained & got 10% off, & someone who didn't complain got a £5 gift voucher. So if you pre-ordered it, you should get something.

Regardless of weather or not it is suppose to come with UV the fact they used the picture with it clearly stating Blu-ray + UV means it could come under false advertising. If warner knew they should not of supplied the picture and amazon should not of used it.

Not only was it in the picture, up until yesterday it clearly even showed ultraviolet in the product description. I remember seeing it there in the description for over 2 months, just yesterday they removed it.

If you are referring to the 10% that was me
Got a refund of £10.99 so brings down the price to £99

BTW 10% is the largest ex gratia discount Amazon customer service representatives can give without upward referral to management. Accepted this as nice to get something back, and don't think I would get any more pushing further as they could always say if you don't like it just return the boxset for a refund.

It sounds like Warner Bros. are at fault, so you guys should keep pushing them for the code. I wonder if the UK has had a digital copy licence for the set. Is it available on out iTunes yet? It's about the same price as the physical set in the US!

Ive complained to them a few minutes ago in chat, and they refused to give even a partial refund. They claimed that theyre suppliers said no more refunds,WTF??? Its not fair some get refunds and other nothing. First ever bad experience from UK amazon, they said when i receive item to return it, i told them im not returning it just for the code.

I see you are in Italy ? so the UV code is a non issue to you as a UK issued UV code is only redeemable via a UK or Irish IP address as evidence you are resident of one of the two countries.

i agree, after several emails all ive got is contact warners its there problem
all they would offer is a full refund after ive returned the set..
ive never had a problem with amazon before and when i do this is how they treat us..

if i didnt want the set so much i would return it.

I appreciate that but Amazon can not compensate a non UK or Irish resident as any UV licence they sold in the UK would never be expected to cover residents in other countries.

Well if thats the reason, why dont they say so to me? All they said as an excuse is that theyre suppliers said to not issue anymore refunds.

I can't get on at work but is anyone able to access the Flixster UK website. If you log in to your account and go to redeem UV page then on Monday the Batman boxset was listed as one of the new releases you could redeem for UV (assuming you had a code). Was wondering if they have now deleted it ?

Being as they've changed the page to specifically state that the set does not include a UV Code, I've decided to ask for my partial refund offered previously.

It's a shame, because I personally believe Warners are to blame more than Amazon - not that I can find a UK Warners email address to complain to - the two .com addresses I did find have not replied since Monday, and frankly considering how Warner treat the UK, I'm not expecting them to ever reply (or care).

But I'm disappointed Amazon aren't standing up for their customers more - it certainly does reflect badly on their name - and considering that they can play hardball with Warners in the US (stopping pre-orders for a several weeks in order to get lower prices) it seems Amazon should have enough clout to demand UV codes for their customers from Warners UK.

Incidentally, it looks like Warners had pulled the rug from another "Exclusive" release over here with the Zavvi Diamond-Lux Batman 89

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=29

Shows Warners UK really don't give a damn about what they are offering. One incorrect solicit could probably be accepted, but two? At the same time?

Only three Batman titles came up with me, LEGO Batman, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight double-pack and The Dark Knight.

Blinkbox which now ties in with UltraViolet has the 4 seasons for £19.99 each, so we've definitely got the rights to digital copies in the UK. Like the US iTunes the cheeky buggers have split season 2 to double their money.

I've played a few of my UV movies through Blinkbox's PS3 App and the quality is excellent too, so those on-the-fence about buying the show might benefit from picking up season 1 if it's the only digital option.

I had no idea that digital copies were so popular. I've not bothered with any of 'em!

Amazon's refund policy doesn't seem very across the board. I complained and got a £22/20% refund. How can they justify giving £5 or 10% to other people?
