It's gorgeously film-like on UHD, it's so disappointin

This seemed like there was something wrong with the presentation but if it is a matter of not enough pop and fireworks and vivid colors again then I will simply ignore the haters. It's not that sort of film to begin with, Im only interested in getting a good presentation on UHD with the benefits of the format.

p.s Extended cut doesn't add anything meaningful IIRC. I also could swore (though only viewed once) it went over a dialogue point twice because of the additions.
Yeah, the extended cut adds in a "first date" sequence, and the scene must have been cut fairly early on, because when they go on their "second date" there is a point where they have the exact same conversation they had before.

You're surprised that one's man trash is another man's treasure? That's pretty much the mantra that hangs over the doorway of Blu-ray.com.

Well you're not wrong. It is however puzzling to me sometimes understanding what there is actually wrong with the releases that get those kinds of comments like that one I quoted. I would like to know a little bit more behind the comments, specifically when you then give high praise right behind.

"It's bad!" "No it's good!"
Well wtf is it? Good or bad, something in between or what. I guess I have to see for myself so why did I even bother to ask...

Hmm. This thread only has 200-odd replies, why not try reading some of it to try and get the context which you seek? And no, I'm not actually being sarcastic this time because it's just common sense. It's not even a particularly long thread. Though I guess "gorgeously film-like" was too vague as to why I likes it?

Said it since day one, one of the best looking filmic 35mm transfers on disc.

I was originally asking from the guy who thought it was not thrilling. It had nothing to do with you until you decided to demolish that opinion. I never got the why is it shite, I only got the good parts so you should not take so personally as I appreciated your opinion but I wanted the other side.

So yeah maybe I can go through it all but my interest was peaked by the negative comment so I replied and I think that about justifies it. You kind of made this into a fight for no reason tho

Eh, my post that "demolished" the other person had nothing to do with you either....until you decided to quote me. It's kinda like if you say Geoffyman into a computer monitor three times, I'll turn up and give you your opinion.

I don’t care if the 4K is such a level of perfection that watching it allows me to smell Affleck’s cologne and feel Bostonian drizzle on my skin, I’ll be damned if I’d pick it over the Extended Cut with Alternate Ending (along with the pretty delightful tat) found in the Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set. I find Warner’s insistence on only committing theatrical cuts to UHD absolutely maddening.

I've seen this movie a million times on Bluray and finally got the 4K, only to run into a hiccup I haven't experienced since the Daniel Craig Bond 4K set.

I got a freeze and stutter about 15 minutes in, took the disc out to be washed again (already did once as is standard procedure for 4K discs at my place), then put it back. Initially played fine, then a few minutes later froze again. Popped the disc out and reinserted it, only to immediately freeze at the same spot.

Ever since I've started washing my 4K discs, freezes have been rare, but even before, usually my glitches happen later on, typically at least around the hour mark, and once the disc is reinserted, they go away. This is the first time since the Craig 4Ks I've had a spotless and cleaned 4K freeze for seemingly no reason in my X700.

Disappointed but since I've seen the movie so many times I'll leave it be and just hope my next player will be able to read it (and my Craig 4Ks) correctly.

This happens with real life human beings, you go over the same topic sometimes. But here it's jarring as you get no such signals from the characters energy, thus your brain knows instantly "Ah, a filmmaking mistake". Pulled me right out of the movie and I physically did one of those double takes and tried to process how that could happen in the editing room.

Proceeding never to watch the Extended again -- But for sure this is definitely a disc I ought to throw on soon. Famous too often said words -- Good news is my lady suggested we watch it some random night a while back and I just wasn't in the mood or it was too late at night for the guns in the soundtrack. So it's on the table for viewing, as it were.

Man I love this movie. Just watched it for the first time on UHD. Question... do I need to watch the blu-ray of the extended version, or is it not worth the time?

Watch the third cut of the film it’s the best. The sad part is WB didn’t put both extended cuts on 4K.

I haven't heard or seen a 3rd cut.
I know I prefer the theatrical over the extended.
Love this movie!

I have . Details about the two cuts. Some spoilers are in there if one hasn't watched all the cuts.
Still debating if I want to get this UHD.
