That is what I was thinking of. I remember seeing the silent takes too. There was a lamp and colors. That was it. I'm actually looking forward to the film with Wood drinking whiskey and wearing the dog collar more.

I'd like AGFA or Vinegar Syndrome to release Necromania.

Has anyone here seen any of the Shaw Bros restorations that AGFA have for theatrical bookings? I'm interested to know if they're like other AGFA restorations and are just prints, or if they managed to get ahold of better original film elements.

I saw a 35mm print of Boxer's Omen from AGFA, and the print was pretty great. If all the restorations are from prints like that one I don't think people would mind too much.

I haven't seen the dvd, but I did catch this at Alamo. For a film that was shot on super 8 and went unreleased for years, you'd think it would totally suck. I went into this with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's actually pretty well made for a SOV type of flick. Even the acting is pretty good across the board. B-movie level for sure, but convincing and entertaining. Bring on Ninja Zombie 2!

Take It Out In Trade on the other hand... I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy

Isn't Take It Out in Trade one of those movies like The Immoral Mr. Teas and The Satanist that consist entirely (or almost entirely) of narration? I'm generally unenthusiastic about that style of filmmaking.

Watched the trailers selection on Godmonster of Indian Flats the other day and I really hope The Mysterious Monsters and Man Beast get a blu release from AGFA.

It's in the same genre, but Take It Out in Trade is more dialogue driven. From what I recall at least. There was some dialogue and there were a lot of shots of girls walking down shag carpet stairs. It felt like a dirty old man's movie. This is coming from somebody who loves Orgy of the Dead.

I don't mean to dissuade anyone from checking it out. Perhaps my earlier comment was a bit harsh. It's hardly the worst film I've ever seen, but I won't be picking it up.

The other feature that is part of the supplements has Ed Wood drinking whiskey and getting drunk, then putting on a dog collar and letting two butch girls lead him in for punishment. Is that good enough?

Fleshpot On 42nd Street and Guru, the Mad Monk are coming to Blu-ray/DVD in February 2019! A collaboration between AGFA and Something Weird.

Product description:

Quote:
Andy Warhol never hired a young John Waters to make a sex-fueled soap opera for $50. But if he had, it would have felt like Fleshpot On 42nd Street. Dusty Cole (Laura Cannon) and Cherry Lane (Neil Flanagan, star of Guru, the Mad Monk) are streetwalkers with a mission: survival! After a potential hook-up goes bad, Dusty quits Cherry and the life and shacks up with new beau Bob. However, tragedy lurks around the corner. Filmed guerilla-style on Long Island by legendary DIY filmmaker Andy Milligan (The Ghastly Ones), Fleshpot On 42nd Street is a dreamy, psychotic melodrama that exists in a space-time continuum known only to itself.
Product features:

Quote:
  • 4K preservation from Something Weird’s only 35mm theatrical print!
  • 42nd Street trailers from the AGFA + Something Weird vaults!
  • Liner notes by AGFA’s Alicia Coombs!
  • Bonus movie: Guru, the Mad Monk (1969), Andy Milligan’s horror opus preserved in 2K from an original 35mm theatrical print!
  • Reversible cover art!

Scarecrow Video is doing a charity auction and one of the items is Godmonster, The Sword and the Claw and Revenge of Lady Street Fighter. The trailers look awesome, so I threw my 50 bucks into the hat for a good cause - what the hell!

From Facebook:

Quote:
Heads-up, friends! Our February 2019 Blu-ray/DVD release of FLESHPOT ON 42ND STREET + GURU, THE MAD MONK has been shelved for the time being.

FLESHPOT ON 42ND STREET and GURU, THE MAD MONK will both be released on home video eventually via AGFA + Something Weird Video. But there’s no time frame at the moment. Basically, we weren’t 100% happy with how the finished product turned out and we now have an opportunity to make it better.

That said, both titles are currently available for theatrical bookings via our site!

To anyone who pre-ordered the Blu-ray, thank you so much for understanding -- and for your continued support!

I don't know for sure if this is true but I heard that vinegar syndrome has a print of fleshpot with a longer cut on it. Maybe they're trying to secure that.

AGFA has detailed their upcoming DVD release of Blood Lake. This marks their third collaboration with Bleeding Skull.

There's a supernatural killer on the loose who wears cowboy boots and a silk shirt with a rose stitched on it! Made by real-life friends from Oklahoma on a real-life vacation, Blood Lake is a rewardingly lethal collision of '80s slasher video-vomit and twisted cinéma vérité madness. From false metal soundtrack hits to gratuitous scenes of people sleeping, this might be the only movie in history capable of receiving a stamp of approval from both David Lee Roth and Andy Warhol.
No special features, if there are any, have been revealed yet.

Blood Lake is set to be released on 4/9/19.

Never seen this one, but the Lil Tony quote on the cover is a real winner.
