I enjoyed this as much as the other two. This is so refreshing, three episodes in and I have so few gripes. If any!

Solid ep, though the reveal of two senior officers having secrets that contravene a whole bunch of regs was kinda weird, it's like the show has to do everything in twos what with La'an and Uhura both revealing they were orphaned.

Ah, the spaceships as submarines episode, another ST staple.

Aside from a handful of present day slang phrases that pop up here and there (Uhura has oddly been the biggest offender in this regard), I find the show is on pretty solid footing. I even quite like exploring

[Show spoiler]the Gorn as this series' big bads, as long as they continue to keep it in continuity with TOS' Arena.

The show is just going from strength to strength. Episode 4 was fantastic, with the opening teaser section building up some genuine suspense and dread. Probably my favourite episode so far. I kind of wanted to see

[Show spoiler]the Gorn, especially with a more modern interpretation than TOS or ENT allowed

, but also appreciate that they kept them as a mystery.

This show is ****ing everything. So emotional getting a real Trek for the first time in forever. The characters, the music, the awesome effects it makes me sad it's not the old days and we won't be getting 26 episodes a season.

That was the best hour of Trek since maybe First Contact..
..now, the next episode should be an excursion/backstory while the ship is in spacedock being repaired....for 6 months or so.

My favorite episode of the season so far, it keeps getting better and better every episode, outstanding cast.

Love how they are giving not just the 9 "regulars" something to do in every episode but also having other crew members contribute -- making the ship feel more real. TOS did a lot of that in season one and basically dropped that in the last two seasons. I don't think they will make the same mistake here. Very nice how they let Kyle have the corridor scene in this one where in the past it would certainly have been reserved for one of the bigger characters.
Also like how the main bridge crew isn't always on duty. In past series it seemed stuff only happened when the exact same shift was on duty. And after early season 1 of TOS if Sulu, for example, was in an episode he was 95% sure to be to be seen only at the helm -- not in quarters or another part of the ship. Hope this doesn't change.

Problem is that, so far, none of the Discovery, Lower Decks or Picard seasons in physical media are available in UHD, just Blu-ray only. I hope that changes at some point.

While Spock hair could stand to improve further and it's far from perfect, it's a damn sight better than it was in Ep 1 and 2, it's nowhere near as distracting as it once was. Maybe the shape of the actor's head is just isn't allowing the wig to sit properly?

Hopefully they're building up to it, I'd like to see something truly terrifying, like perhaps the same design as Dr. Curtis Connors from The Amazing Spider-Man
