They were all appearing together at the Leicester Space Centre and I had a photo with them all but it was very rushed doing the photo so I decided to go and get autographs afterwards. They’d been doing autographs in the morning and it was quite busy but by the time it got around to the afternoon it was much quieter and they were very happy to chat for awhile. I actually bumped into Sylvester on the way back from his photos and walked through the centre chatting with him. I’d met him many years previously when the fate of the show had been up in the air and we had a chat about that.

I talked to Peter about how I’d enjoyed the interview with him on the Blu Ray set and he said he couldn’t remember much about it and that it had been a scorching day when they recorded it.

I’d met Colin some years earlier after the Ultimate Adventure stage play and had offered him a jelly baby and soon found out that he loathed them and I;d mentioned that.

And Paul was trying to convince me that he could still be the Doctor and he’d never really left.
I've met a good number of people from Who, which are listed below.
Doctors-
Tom Baker
Peter Davison
Colin Baker
Sylvester McCoy
Paul McGann
John Hurt
Christopher Eccleston
David Tennant
Matt Smith
Peter Capaldi

Companions/Side Characters-
William Russell (Ian)
Maureen O'Brien (Vicki)
Peter Purves (Steven)
Anneke Wills (Polly)
Frazer Hines (Jamie)
Deborah Watling (Victoria)
Wendy Padbury (Zoe)
Katy Manning (Jo)
Louise Jameson (Leela)
John Leeson (K-9)
Lalla Ward (Romana II)
Matthew Waterhouse (Adric)
Sarah Sutton (Nyssa)
Janet Fielding (Tegan)
Mark Strickson (Turlough)
Nicola Bryant (Peri)
Bonnie Langford (Mel)
Sophie Aldred (Ace)
Daphne Ashbrook (Grace)
Billie Piper (Rose)
Noel Clarke (Mickey)
John Simm (The Master)
Catherine Tate (Donna)
Bernard Cribbins (Wilf)
Karen Gillan (Amy)
Arthur Darvill (Rory)
Catrin Stewart (Jenny Flint)
Jemma Redgrave (Kate Stewart)
Jenna Coleman (Clara)
Ingrid Oliver (Osgood)
Michelle Gomez (Missy)
Samuel Anderson (Danny Pink)
Matt Lucas (Nardole)
Pearl Mackie (Bill)

I can unequivocally say that the kindest and most patient person, who seemed genuinely excited to meet fans, was Peter Capaldi.

You're just looking for a fight - and there's a thread just for that to try to stop the disruption from both sides that sees you constantly getting threads locked when you throw one of your tantrums (which always starts with your phoney baloney 'concern' about celebrities you like's mental health).

You want that fight, go here and sanctimoniously vent to your spleen's delight:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=343606

This thread was created out of anger over the way you regularly got the other Who thread locked and posts deleted en masse - just as you are trying to do now - because you hate anyone expressing different opinions to your own. Yes, the thread name was a mistake, but your demand that only pro-Chibnall posts were allowed on the other thread or you'd get them deleted or the thread locked again were a huge factor in that. You're perfectly happy to attack women on other threads (remind me, how many times did you get the Ghostbusters threads locked with your antics?) and it's become a mixture of trying to censor any opinions other than your own and a malicious game to see how many threads you can kill.

Grow up, accept that the not everyone has - or should have - your opinions and stop trying to censor free discussion on the boards just because you don't agree with it.

Now either pick a fight in the kvetching thread designed for your self-aggrandizing showboating (and that of the Chibnall era haters) or post in the other thread and let the users here go back to discussing the show. The current subject prior to your blatantly obvious attempt to pick a fight was the companions and the behind the sofa extras. Nothing to do with what you are moaning about. You're wildly off topic.

For other users, I'd suggest sending Threadbuster to Coventry - just ignore him and don't give him the flame war he's desperately trying to start to give him the excuse to run crying to the mods to get another locked/deleted thread scalp on his belt.
Oh please. I'm fine with other people's opinions. I wouldn't have an issue with this thread if it didn't specifically target a member of the Doctor Who production team.

I don't think Michael B. Jordan was a good casting choice for Johnny Storm in Fan4stic, but I would never create a thread called 'The Classic Non Jordy Fantastic Four Thread'. I just don't see the need. After what happened to Caroline Flack, and the celebs who have come out and said they've experienced mental health issues because of these kind of attitudes, it's just cruel.

And for your information, i haven't targeted any women on here. I don't know the genders of any posters. I've simply responded as anyone would do to posts.

So, I know some visitors will object, but I actually rewatched a couple of stories the other day on DVD:

I'll be upgrading to Blu when the S17 set comes out (though this looks very good on DVD), but since I happened to have a bag of jelly babies in the flat...

...but I don't have a review handy of that. But I do have one handy for the other:

The Ambassadors of Death is a decent rather than great Doctor Who story from the Jon Pertwee era – his third - that saw the show reinvented as almost as much of an action adventure series as a sci-fi one. The plot may revolve around the disappearance of British astronauts when their capsule returns to Earth after a rescue mission (the show fortuitously originally aired at the same time as the Apollo 13 crisis) and the question of whether it really is the astronauts who returned, but the first two episodes still find room for large-scale shootouts, kidnappings, hijackings, car chases, motorbike crashes and even helicopter stunts, all arranged by the boys at Havoc who got so much work in the third Doctor’s day. After that it settles into more of a mystery touching on layers of Whitehall secrecy, paranoia, xenophobia (or is it alienophobia?), murder and the inevitable race against time to save the Earth, throwing in some good cliffhangers, much aided by the fact that this was the story that introduced (or at least massively amplified) the famous electronic ‘scream’ into the end title music.

Its biggest problem is that after such a rip-roaring start the middle section comes perilously close to being too relaxed – one of the longer stories at seven episodes despite not having enough plot to justify it, you do feel that it could probably have been a little tighter and with less repetition at six episodes instead. That’s in no small part due to the script’s tortuous development: originally intended as a story for Patrick Troughton’s Doctor, David Whittaker went through five rewrites before the uncredited Trevor Ray, Malcolm Hulke and script editor Terrance Dicks reworked it on the hoof. As Dicks notes on the DVD extras, it shows, but it does have its moments.

From a DVD point of view the biggest problem is there’s little appreciable difference in quality from the old VHS release (although unlike that this has all seven episodes in full colour throughout) because only the first episode survived in colour and the other six episodes have been colorised from black and white recordings that used a poor off-air US videotape recording as a guide, something the digital remastering can only do so much to improve (and which the DVD packaging makes no mention of). After recent collectors' sets I can't see the eventual Bluray offering much improvement, if any, unless any of the missing episodes turn up. The extras package isn’t as loaded as some other Who DVDs but is still good – an audio commentary recorded in 2009 before the death of co-stars Caroline John and Nicholas Courtney (the disc wasn’t released until 2012 in the hope of finding better quality versions of the show itself) also featuring Peter Halliday, Geoffrey Beevers, Michael Ferguson, Terrence Dicks, Derek Ware, Roy Scammell, Derek Martin and Toby Hadoke, an excellent 25-minute documentary on the making of the story that goes into much detail about the extensive stunt work, a brief look at newspaper coverage of the third Doctor’s tenure, stills gallery, trivia track and TV spot from 1970.

As the mad showrunner Chris Scroteface did more publicly live on TV in 1986.

Being in the public eye is going to attract criticism to a greater or lesser degree.

I imagine that said person is too thick skinned to get upset over a forum he’s probably not even aware of.

If you cannot accept criticism then you don’t put yourself forward for a high profile acting / writing / performing job. Particularly one which you know will be under scrutiny.

Politicians actually come under more fire than a showrunner on a TV show, in some cases subjected to physical abuse, there was an MP murdered some years ago. The gutter press posts insults on a daily basis.

Step back and get a little perspective.

Looks like there's a big sale on the BDs right now. Are they worth it or am I better off with a Britbox sub? Tbh, I don't even have a player anymore. I stream 100% of the time.

If you want extras get the blus. Otherwise, Britbox. Myself, I prefer the sets and look forward to each release.

Has there ever been a decent Dr Who game? I mind not really enjoying the one that came out in 1997?

That's one of the reasons I like Delta... I thought Ray would have been a good companion, especially if they took the same care with her in regards to developing her character and making her a part of the storyline as they did Ace.
