17, from

Probably the most quintessentially Friday the 13th movie of the series. Has all the ingredients you'd expect from a Friday movie.

18,

Not seen the original but wasn't impressed with this version. felt like wasted potential.

I wanted to turn off my brain, grab some popcorn and savour some light horror entertainment …

(30) Van Helsing (2004)

Not watched this film for ten years. Loads of references to Universal horror films of the 1930s and 1940s. It’s a mad monster mash-up and a thrilling, rollercoaster cartoon like ride through Transylvania. Simply just great fun.

13. Interview With The Vampire - I wasn’t planning to watch IWTV until I saw it mentioned in this thread. It’s crazy how expensive it looks now.

14. A Quiet Place Day One - absolutely gorgeous. Not sure it counts as horror or sci-fi but I loved it.

15. Halloween II - you’re more likely to die at the hands of a Haddonfield Memorial Hospital employee than Michael Myers. It’s basically a porn hospital…

#16 & #17 - Troll & Troll 2

"And keep an eye on your sister", "I'd rather watch Star Trek. Phasers on dull"

A double bill of the infamous Troll films. The original is decent, a good cast including Noah Hathaway post 'The NeverEnding Story' and a young, pre-Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
And Troll 2, well, it's a movie alright.

Beyond bizarre, this little slice of Icelandic folk horror hit the spot. Cheap as chips and supremely odd, I definitely clicked with it from the off. Highlights include a ballroom tap dance that descends into a nightmare, and a butter/vomit/blood-splattered three-way fight to the death. Top stuff.

[From Severin's All the Haunts Be Ours set, there were more than a few typos in the subtitles. No enough to ruin any enjoyment, but annoying nonetheless.]

(31) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

One of the best remakes of the slasher/horror genre. The slick production values and good direction adds to the shocking realism, scary atmosphere and the sheer menace of being terrorised in the middle of nowhere by a deranged redneck family. Jessica Biel shines as a smart lead character amongst the carnage and gore.

Pamela Susan Shoop's nude scene ranks as one of the best bits of film gratuitous nudity. Her boobs are amazingly good.
I find this to be a very underrated film, but even if it was a stinker, she makes it worth watching.
