To me he has changed the way many films are made how can this be over rated?
I don't know if he has influenced the way films are made, but he has definitely changed the way I look at films, and that's the reason I admire him as a director. I have always liked movies, but Pulp Fiction was the first movie that really got me interested in film, so its more of a personal reason for me why I like his work.

When he first came onto the scene his movies were like nothing else, when an entire genre is spawned because of you; you are not overrrated at all.

As a generality this forum is filled with people who have overrated themselves and the importance/impact of their own opinions, perhaps we should discuss that instead, would be funner, there a great number of buffoons who need to be taken down a peg, probably including myself.
Indeed.

exactly put , and that's why he's not a "Great" director in my eyes. Sure, Pulp Fiction was a classic, but all the great directors I love never just made one great film, they never let up when the first one was done. That's why he's overrated IMO: his ambition-fed sloth. a pardox yes, but true.

I haven't seen Inglorious Basterds, but the only movies that I have liked of QT is Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. I will have to see IB. To be honest I think he has a unique style (in which I don't believe he was the first to use it because I am pretty sure Asian directors have used it before, which would make sense since he is obsessed with Asian cinema) and his movies are an acquired taste, but I really think his only good movies, in my eyes, are RD and PF.

I also heard he isn't that nice of a guy though. Don't know if that is true or not.

It's not really a joke though. One example: how many times has Tomoyasu Hotei's "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" showed up in film and television since Kill Bill...not the least of which being Transformers?

um... since kil bill???

Battle Without Honor or Humanity" is an alternate version of "Shin jingi-naki tatakai", an instrumental piece by Tomoyasu Hotei, originally used in the 2000 film Another Battle (aka Shin Jinginaki Tatakai) by Junji Sakamoto, in which Hotei also performs as an actor. The original version was also available in Hotei's live album Rock the Future Tour 2000-2001.

I wouldn't go as far as say he's overrated, but some of his are not as good as they are hyped up to be, especially the two Kill Bill movies, which in my opinion are nothing more than western movies who take some ingredients from Asian movies, executes them poorly, mixes it all and serves is the newest best dish in town (which, IMHO, it's not).

Before Pulp Fiction I don’t remember films not going in chronological order with the expectation that the audience would to be smart enough to put the time line in order. This is something that has been done in several films since Pulp Fiction. I’ve been a film lover for a long time and I can’t think of another American director to impact the way other movies are made like him, other than Scorsese. Also he’s not even my favorite American director.

while Tarantino did make it widely used.... it had been done....

In the United States, Robert Altman carried the nonlinear motif in his films, including McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), Nashville (1975), The Player (1992), Short Cuts (1993), and Gosford Park (2001).[12] Woody Allen embraced the experimental nature of nonlinear narrative in Annie Hall (1977), Interiors (1978), and Stardust Memories (1980).

I've seen of 4 of the 8 films you listed below but honestly I can't remember them really well. I'll take this list as few recommendations for me to check out. I'll try to get some of these in the next few weeks. Thanks.

Inglorious Basterds is the siznit!!!

His movies are hit or miss. You either like him or hate him. There's no middle ground.
