It's the only thing we could find of his that sucked horrendously...

I mean he was awesome as the Emo First man in 24.

I do hate his character in Chronicles of Riddick something fierce...
So glad he

I'm not worried about this movie at all. The only thing (to me) is that the movie feels weird. If you look at all the recent Marvel movies they all have a particular feel to them and Thor is different. I guess it's because he's supposed to be an all powerful God sent to Earth... but i like it.

I know what you mean; Hulk and Iron Man had kind of a science-fictiony feel to them and Thor is a bit more fantasy. I think they can be shot with similar styles; though, they could have the same feel.

Two years ago, Sega signed a deal with Marvel to develop games based on their superhero movies. Since then, we have seen the release of Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Out of the three games that accompanied the film releases, two were horrible (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk) and one was average (X-Men Origins: Wolverine). Not surprisingly, Sega published two of the three games. I’ll let you figure out which ones they were. (cough - the crappy ones - cough).

With Iron Man 2, Captain America and Thor on the books for both Marvel and Sega, does that mean we, the audience, can look forward to more mediocre games from the fallen Sonic creator or is there a silver lining? Perhaps!

Two days ago, internal Sony documents leaked out on the internet (via Sega’s FTP site) and provided a bevy of information for any parties interested. From confidential meeting notes, plans on launching a PS2 emulator for the PS3, to the release date of their new motion sensing controller (March in Japan); everything seemed to be there. Buried deep within the document held one short, but interesting note.

Quote:
“Thor
SCEA would like a look at the code soon.”
While that might now seem unimportant, the fact that SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment of America) is requesting a look at the code means that they’re in the midst of development of the game. With the film not expected until 2011, this gives Sega all the time they would need to develop and test this game and should produce a higher quality game compared to their previous efforts. While 2 years might not sound like a lot of time, the production schedule for the first Iron Man game was listed at 18 months.

Still, I’m cautious with Sega now a-days as they have not had the track record for producing top quality titles. Add that to the rule that games based on movies are almost always horrible and it’s not boding well for Thor.

Still, I’ll give it a chance. Who doesn’t love hitting things with a hammer?

Look for the Thor, movie and game, in 2011.

(I would just like to note that I went this entire post without making any form of MC Hammer reference.)

I hope it sucks as hard as the Iron Man and Hulk games. Because apparently they blew pretty hard and the movies were awesome. I hope Thor has that same correlation

hahaha Wow, that's some coincidence! I liked the Wolverine movie (didn't love it) yet many people hated it... and yet the video game was popular. So i'm with you, i hope the Thor videogame sucks.

I still like my idea better. Teaser poster should be nothing but Mjolnir, laying flat on the ground, set against a dark backdrop, with the inscription on the hammer clearly visible, and "2011" under it. Simple and awesome.

Whoa, how in the world did I miss reporting this

Swedish-born Stellan Skarsgård (Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3, Angels & Demons) has been added to the cast of Marvel Studios’ Thor film.

Skarsgård joins Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Jaimie Alexander (Sif), Colm Feore and Brian Blessed (Odin).

The actor says he cannot reveal who he’s playing in the film, as with Colm Feore whom we only know will be playing some sort of villain.

The 58 year old actor was initially asked to join the Thor cast without being given a chance to read the script. This was due to Marvel’s efforts to keep plot details secure and secret but that wouldn’t work for Skarsgård.

Quote:
“They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do. Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy.”
What’s ironic about all of this is the fact that Stellan’s son, Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) was a lead candidate to play the titular role of Thor in this film until Mr. Hemsworth nabbed that spot. He must be jealous of his father now.

Stellan Skarsgård as Cerdic in King Arthur

Kenneth Branagh’s project is coming together well and I am impressed and excited about the cast so far. He continues to add strong talent and actors that fall in line with his Shakespearean roots. Mr. Skarsgård is not new to playing roles in period pieces, having played important characters in King Arthur, Beowulf and Grendel and Pirates of the Caribbean.

What do you think of the cast so far and of Stellan Skarsgård’s addition?

Thor begins production next Spring and hits theaters on May 20, 2011.

He would have to be playing Odin. Too bad his son had not of gotten Thor. Would have been cool to see them together in the film.

He really does have to play Odin, there is just no way he is in the movie and not playing Odin unless there is a royal screw-up. That would have been awesome though to have father and son play father and son.

Some more people are rumored to be in Thor:

According to actor, Matthias Schweighöfer, who you may have seen in VALKYRIE or RED BARON - in an article in the German edition of Gentlemen's Quarterly aka GQ, he states that he's in the running for a role in Branagh's THOR, but he also mentions that Jude Law and Robert DeNiro have joined the cast.
