I think they smudge the weight to save money on shipping, everyone seems to report the package as 40 pounds. But trust me the beast weighs in.
Good to know there are a few people on here getting these subs, I'm a very proud owner and if the wife would'nt stab me in my sleep I'd get a second one in a heart beat.

Well at least you know up front, I recieved a ups email the next day and had a delivery date that week, and it took two weeks after that to receive it.

you shouldve spent a few bucks more and got an ED sub or whatever.

for $229 it seems kinda steep to be a 'budget sub'
$169 for my AA and it shakes my house foundation

THATS a good price

GTFO. 229-169= $60. Didn't you just chastise someone on the Polk thread for not spending just that amount of money? 350-229= $121. Not exactly a "few bucks more".

LOL, Don everything you own is the best because you own it, and everything else sucks. Onkyo 806, your plasma, and your sub. It's ok to own something good AND have other things out there be good too, isn't it?

for $60 bucks there IS NOT A DIFFERENCE.....thats the point.
its wasted money

sure i 'chastised' someone for not spending 50 bucks more to go from a set of M50s to M60s.
this is different.

the AA has more power, better RMS. but dont forget......since 2 people complained about the AA then it isnt a good sub.
eople complain about the AA sub cause more have been sold.
more sold = more chance for something to be defective

and everything i have isnt the 'best ever'.
i am very satisfied with everything i own and since people want to harbor when things dont work (2 people on the AA sub thread) people need to know when things DO WORK and thatere are people out there who dont only post to complain but rather to praise what they have as an excellent product.

if iw as going to pay $229 for a PA SUB if rather spend a couple of bucks more and get away from the 'basement/bargain sub' and go get an ED sub

The day $121 more on a $229 purchase is a "couple bucks more" is the day I retire because obviously money is no longer a factor. That's like saying that I should spend $35,000 instead of $20,000 on my car since it's only a few bucks more.

Your perception is that the $60 difference is wasted money. Personally, I disagree with you for multiple reasons. I think it's obvious which sub is better built. Better bracing alone is worth something to me. That in turn helps with performance. Also, there's a huge thread that I've linked over at AVS. I personally can't think of anyone that had true issues thus far with the PA-120 outside of placement/setup issues. I'll leave the door open on that as I could be wrong, but that's worth a price difference to me also.

I've yet to say that the AA sub isn't good for the money. I don't own one, and can't directly speak on it for anything more than pictures and graphs. I do wholeheartedly think that the PA-120 is worth the extra $60 bones though.

$60 or $121 - ummm, $60 (IF they take a Lower Bid than their BUY IT NOW price) isn't that big a difference to ME to get, IMO, a Better made Sub - & one with not as many recent Issues that have popped up in that thread. But $121 IS a HUGE difference & for my size room, that other eD sub would prob. be like a Bull in a China shop - Too Much Everything with nowhere to go! -- anyway, I'm not paying $229 exactly - can't say what amount or how, but i'm happy with what it'll cost me in the end.

(I just wish it wasn't on a 2-3 week delivery b/order as my 2-wk vacation starts Monday. I'd have loved to get it mid-next week & have a week+ to Really crank up some LFE heavy Blurays to see & Hear the difference. No Major thing tho', I can wait. As they say, All GOOD things come to those who Wait)

We can go on and on about price, if your going to pay 350, then why not go 500 and get an svs or hsu sub? It's all in the eye of the beholder my friend!

Good points on both posts. You have to make a cutoff somewhere.

the bracing of the AA worried me as-well. my tought was 'if i need bracing i can just glue wood piece(s) in there within 5 minutes with my NON bob vila skills

the graph BD posted about the AA sub was the kicker. you cant deny proof which the AA sub thread had......if only someone could do that around here

its all good aramis.....you know i love you & BUY A PLASMA!!!
did you check sears.com for the 54g10 panny for $1619?

recent issues = 2 people complaining?
imagine how many people bought this sub proudly and havent said a peep about it as it works like it should.
and to be honest, i dont trust people that their setup is correct to complain about a subwoofer and how it sounds.

77 people in the AA thread boiught a subwoofer.....god knows how many more just lurk the forums and bought one.
so to say 'isn't that big a difference to ME to get, IMO, a Better made Sub - & one with not as many recent Issues that have popped up in that thread. is absurd.

to each his own man......did you get the FXI surrounds yet? LOL

I saw that graph yes, but, where was the comparable PA graph? Maybe that would have showed similar (better, equal?) numbers, but I guess we'll never know til' BD gets a PA Sub! Yes, RECENT issues, 2 or 20, is not the Main point of why I'm going PA vice AA - & you know why as I've posted them or PM'd them to you already. As Aramis' stated, if what YOU have works for YOU, then FINE. Lol. There's just no need to make it sound, IMO, like "that's that & I'm Right damnit!" - If You don't "trust people that their set-up is correct to complain", well, the 2 recent people you question, sounded like they had Plenty of background knowledge to not just say "these suck!! & I'm done with them!", but, were willing to hear OTHER PEOPLE out on possible attempts or solutions to try & correct what they were hearing - which is what ANYONE should do, right?

Also, why is it "Absurd" to you for ME having MY reasons? Cuz' they don't Jive with yours?! Oh ok, I am So Sorry Oh Wise One: King Of ALL THINGS AUDIO & VIDEO... - lmao. it's fine dude, you be happy with your stuff, i'll be happy with mine, bar-b-q in a month or 2 still on? I'll bring burgers & dogs' - As you posted above, it's all good. Just see if you can find it somewhere inside to be OPEN to "other" peoples' Opinions & thoughts without resorting to possible antics such as... anytime someone posts something Differing from yours.

Well I've had some problems with my AA sub as well. It distorts really bad at lower frequencies. I've put in polyfill, taken out polyfill, sealed the driver with foam strip insualtion and it still distorts. It may just be the driver. Hopefully everything can be worked out. I've called DD and told them about it. They talked about sending a RMA number and replacing it and testing the next sub before they ship it. We'll see how it works out.

You don't need to argue. Be nice and buy me a PA sub and I will gladly produce as many graphs as you need.

In the meantime, enjoy whatever system you have. It is all about entertainment.
