Hmm.. I'm looking at the APC H15BLK from Amazon. I think I need this unit more importantly, before I actually start considering to upgrade my sub.

EDIT: Just went ahead and ordered it. I should get it tomorrow using Prime & $3.99.

Should work fine for you. I've had the APC H10 for almost a year now and it's great. A good power conditioner is especially important for us Floridians. The summer storms can be brutal causing power surges.

Yeah I should be getting it today since I paid an additional $3.99 for overnight shipping.

I was reading the manual online and the setup seems to be straight forward. Hopefully this will help that "thump" sound I get from my sub when I turn the room fan switch on. When I flip the fan switch, it triggers the sub on for some reason

The manual states that the APC H15 should always stay on.

Do you guys keep the blue LED light on the whole time, or do you turn that light off?

I always keep my H10 light on and running. As far as I'm aware it burns almost no electricity.

Thanks Chad! I the blue light is too bright for me so I keep it at the lowest setting.

I like to keep the lights turned off on my H10 because if the power "trips off" then the LED's will luminate. If I have been away and return to see them lit, I know something happened. Just gives me one more reason to be anal. I have got to get me the conditioner with the battery back-up one of these days.

Keep the lights off, they can pollute and degrade the audio quality a tiny amount.

Is this true for any brand of power conditioner, or just with APC?

An LED light being left on can cause sound problems? first I've ever heard of this.

LOL. I just keep the light on at night. Useful nightlight. I just turn the LED light when I leave for work.

Same here. My home theater is my bedroom and it looks kinda cool with all the blue lights between my receiver and APC with the lights out.

Most display panels in electronics that light up cause extra radio frequency noise in your system, which can affect the sound quality at the margins. That is why most of the audiophile manufacturers leave them out or give you the option to turn it off.

Question

Question about 2 subs hooking up to the APC H15,

I might be getting (2) 10" subs shortly. Where can I hook the 2nd sub at? Do I just hook it up on the amp slot (Delayed).

You could, but I'd have my receiver in one of those high current outlets too & plug the second sub into a wall outlet( most subs & amps have some form of protection built in ).

Regarding the isolated noise filter bank question, the APC has a filter in each bank so there's no interference like when you're watching tv and someone turns on a blow dryer and "noise" shows up on the screen.

So how do you like the new APC MaCruz? You might not notice it all that much this time of year given how little rain/storms we get in the winter. But when we get slammed next summer with the daily afternoon thunderstorms you'll see how well it holds up.

I haven't experienced anything unusual since it's winter time in Florida, but when it hits Spring/Summer time, I hope this thing holds up to it's reputation.

I've had the H10 for about 1.5 years now.
I use APC only at work, from 2200's, 2200XL's, 3000's, 800/500's, etc. NEVER had a single problem with them so I bought a contitioner for my home system.

Only problem I've been mulling (with the H10) is the fact my sockets are no where near at tight compared to what I've experienced at work. I've decieded to address the issue and within' a few emails I was sent another H10. Recieved it and the sockets were no doubt tighter and I didn't feel I could pull the cables out easily like my other unit.
However, there was something rollin' around inside my replacement unit. Another email and now they are sending me another one to replace that. Hopefully I receive it today or tomrorow.

All done cross shipping so I still have my original unit hooked up and working.

I'm very pleased with it. I see the boost light on every now and then. I've had a few surges and drops in the past month. Nothing wrong with my system.

Once I'm in a position to buy some racks/UPS's for my servers @ work, no if ands or butts it will be APC.
