Not couting the Miniseries, and Razor, which are on top of the 4 seasons
(and the bonuses, of course)

It wasn't just to charge more; it was because of the 6-month-plus hiatuses in the middle of the season.

As a side effect, they did charge more... or alternately, Season 3 was underpriced. Choose your preferred interpretation.

Australia Amazon Price Drop

Amazon US have just dropped the price of BSG Complete Series Blu-ray to USD199.49! I emailed them asking for a credit to my acct seeing as how they only sent it to me last Monday (for $209.99) - will let you know what happens.

Hey all. A helpful tip for those having difficulty pulling the discs out of each season's case. The multi-layered black sleeve that houses the discs actually pulls out of each case (the first time requires a firm tug, every time thereafter is much easier). Once it's removed, you can unfold the black accordion sleeve, access the discs quite easily, put them back into place, and slide the sleeve back inside its season's case for semi-safe keeping.

Hope that helps alleviate some frustration! It certainly reduces the risk of scratches and scuffs

Are you sure it's supposed to come out? That first firm tug might be undoing the glue holding it in place or something.

That seems to be pretty much matching Wal-Mart's online price. I also doubt you'll get any credit since it's already shipped. The pre-order price "guarantee" only applies until they actually ship the item.

To those of you not pleased with the packaging, check here to see a DIY custom case by Bill Hunt of The Digital Bits.

I'm pretty sure they're designed to come out. I had the same thought after I removed the first sleeve, but there wasn't any adhesive residue or damage to indicate the sleeve had been glued in. Plus, the manner in which the sleeve unfolds seems to suggest a deliberate design intention. I encountered the same thing with all four season sleeves as well.

Hope that helps clarify!

Yes, it does; it's the first disc of season one.

In my opinion, the show got better as It went, season 3 through 4.5 were excellent.

Yeah, I agree - that's a pretty bad alternative package. I mean, no offensive to Bill as he did this for himself and just offered the information and files up to everyone for free - certainly nothing wrong with that. But I don't think his packaging idea solves the problems that most people are having. You still can't fit it on the shelf, and you're still sliding discs in and out of sleeves instead of easy-to-use disc trays.

I'm going to try to find or make some cover printouts to fit the 7-disc Blu-ray cases that Disney and Paramount have been using (Lost and Star Trek series sets).

In my personal opinion Season 3 drug on and on but the payoff at the end of the season was worth it. Season 4 was great and I enjoyed the final payoff of the series ending. Season 2 was one of the best seasons of the show though.

Good luck finding multidisc Blu-ray cases--I sure couldn't (except for 6-disc ones from a company in Australia that wants way too much for currency conversion and shipping.)

I gave up and bought some DVD-case-sized VERSApaks, and will scan/print covers as soon as my order arrives from Amazon.
