The codes are on a typical small paper insert, mine was in the very last page of the sleeves. There is one code per movie. |

Sound is fantastic. It's crystal clear and any type of bass is very tight with a major thump. Completely destroys Black Panther that I watched last night. (jurassic Park 1).

I know this is the 4K thread, but I was wondering if anyone bought the Target exclusive of just the Blu's? I'm a huge JP fan so I bought 1 of the 4K BBY Steelbook set and 1 of the Target set. I was pleasantly surprised that the Target set was $25, included $15 of movie money, included art cards, and a box that plays the JP theme song. I figured what would boil to $10 outta pocket, thought that was a pretty good deal.
The digital insert includes the codes, but I was wondering if they'll redeem for the 4K or just the HD? It has the 25th Anniversary emblem on the sheet. I'll prolly redeem anyways. TIA! UPDATE: They redeemed in HD on MoviesAnywhere. Last edited by jasibley; 05-23-2018 at 01:17 AM. |

So the verdict is the transfers are bad?

I’m watching Jurassic Park right now, and I feel like I am 12 years old, and watching it in the theater with my family. It looks and sounds that good guys. Yeah the CGI is soft, and there are some random instances of questionable picture quality early in the movie, when Gennaro and Hammond are arguing in the Jeep. But by and large, wow, it takes me back in a big way.
I just wish my steelbook was not all busted. Any Best Buy employees here want to comment on the possible restocking on the steelbook, so I can get an exchange? |

Has anyone confirmed yet whether the Digital Codes provided in the regular Limited Edition 4K Ultra HD actually give 4K UHD digital versions of the movies?
I already own the regular HD digital copies from each of the individual movie Blu-Rays + Digital circa Jurassic World release. Want to make sure whether to redeem or gift to a friend if it's just HD digital. |

I think so far the consensus is that the transfers are actually good, just not 100% perfect. But they seem to be way better than the mediocre Blu-Ray versions.
And it's really reasonably priced-- I picked up the steelbook from Best Buy for $55, and if you factor in the $15 of movie money, that's like it's $40. Which is 10 bucks a movie. Definitely worth it, I'd say. |

Question: does anyone think the transfer for the first film is a bit dim? I'm a 4K newbie (got my system when this set was announced expressly for these films) so it could just be that I'm not used to HDR or the updated color grading of this new transfer, but it just seems too dark. I'm honestly a bit disappointed (but I've only watched the original thus far). It seems to have great detail and clarity, I just can't see it that well. Perhaps it's the black crush Geoff D was talking about?

Yeah!
I do have "audiophile" Prepro and power amp though. Passive acoustic treatment (bass traps, etc.). Anyhow, the whole experience of JP1 was among the best I've had in my theater. I can't say there aren't some videophile concerns here and there with the image, but I thought it was impressive. Honestly, I'd been looking forward to The Matrix, but it took only a few moments to switch gears. |

We aren't getting the full 35mm frame, by the way. I'm not sure if the partial frame is blown up to get the 1.85 or if more area was used by turning the frame sidways (like Super 35). I think it's fair to compare with SPR to some degree. |
