sure he fired and wounded Kylo Ren and set off the explosives but I wanted him to really go off.
[Show spoiler]I would have thought so maybe, but I kind of view it as Chewie showing real maturity in the moment. He remembers that he has other friends there he needs to help. Seeing him flying up to help Rey and Finn near the end is a wonderful moment and made me love the "big walking carpet" even more.

Life changing? I doubt it, but then no movie is really "life changing" like that, but it can reach awesome levels of awesomeness and The Force Awakens did that. Then again, life-changing is in the eye of the beholder so...

I feel like this film finally put the 'war' back into Star Wars. I was delighted at how brutal some of it was. The way the battle scenes were shot was fantastic. I don't really know how to put it into words because I don't know much about film making, but the camera work made the prequels look like YouTube videos.

That opening.
[Show spoiler]Kylo ordering the death of an entire village of innocent bystanders? I don't think we had ever witnessed that in any Star Wars film before. Order 66 was against Jedi, but these were just villagers who knew nothing about what the First Order was after. It was a shocker and the perfect intro for Finn to show his horror at what he was being asked to do.

Edit:
[Show spoiler]It also showed that the First Order was no joke. These bastards are for real.

Did everyone else have to sit through a million movie previews before The Force Awakens started?

It seems that, the more people are looking forward to a movie, the more previews we have to sit through.

I'll break mine down that I saw before The Force Awakens at my theater...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

No. Just...no.

Warcraft
This just makes me realize how inferior every other sci-fi/fantasy franchise is to Star Wars. Haha.

Independence Day: Resurgence
I'll probably see this one, but I'll keep trying to talk myself out of going to see it.

X-Men: Apocalypse
I loved First Class and I liked Future Past okay, but nothing about this new sequel trailer quickened my pulse.

Captain America: Civil War

I cannot wait for this one (and not just because I worked as a background extra during the filming).

Zootopia
This trailer got me laughing, because the sloths...were...just...like...real...D...M...V...e mployees. I'll probably skip it at the theater, though.

The 5th Wave

I'm interested in this one, because it looks like a cool flick, it was filmed here in Atlanta, and I want to see some familiar places getting destroyed. I'll never be able to take the father seriously, though, since he's the guy from Office Space.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Trailers that put me to sleep and where to find them.

I had the displeasure of seeing the trailer for Kung Fu Panda 3 and its ridiculous, unfunny toilet humor.

My local theater really has a problem with showing old trailers. I did get Civil War, ID42, and X-men, but also got the first teaser of Zootopia and and first teaser of Zoolander. always irritates me when I get old trailers.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

Thank goodness NO!!

Warcraft
Loads of the oRcs was cool.

Independence Day: Resurgence
Also decent trailer for perhaps something that may turn out better than it should.

X-Men: Apocalypse
I don't recall if my showing did.

Captain America: Civil War

Yup had this one.

Zootopia
Also this one and it was the last one for my showing.

The 5th Wave

Had it and wasn't paying attention.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Also had this one and seems decent.
Truly glad I didn't have to suffer through Turtles are have ten or fifteen trailers to sit through.

Unrelated note, mentioned before but I hope that JJ gets a chance to offer an extended version of the film because it just feels as though 15-20 minutes were cut. Full scenes and various extensions are likely missing for maximum runs per day.

Best regards,
KvE

I went to a screening at school and not a movie theater so I didn't get any trailers. But I can't wait to see the Civil War trailer on the big screen when I see SW for a second time!

I just want an extended version because it didn't feel like I wasted 2 hours and 16 minutes of my life watching TFA. It felt like it lasted about 1 hour 40 minutes. So an extra 20 minutes would be great.

Very good movie. Too many similarities to a New Hope. Some fantastic effects and battle scenes. Great to see the Millennium Falcon back on the big screen. Liked the new cast. Soundtrack was a bit underwhelming. I'm going to see it again.

As far as comparing it to the others. I wouldn't say this movie blows away the PT or even the OT. Certainly better than the first two PT movies.

The missing cuts are going to be added 20 years from now when J.J. Abrams releases the The Force Awakens: The Special Edition, with new computer-generated images superimposed onto scenes that were originally shot.

Mwahahahahahahaha!

The first one was no Citizen Kane, but this one really looks hollow.

I'll probably see it, but I just don't think they are doing Apocalypse justice. You should need someone to tell me how powerful he is, just SHOW IT!

Girlfriend will make it a must see.

I also saw a trailer for Batman vs Superman. I'll go see this just to witness the best version of Batman I've ever seen vs the worst version of Superman I've ever seen together in what looks like a poorly thought out DC franchise killer. Sad. It will do far more money that that new fantastic four movie, but to me it doesn't look like it's any better of a movie.

I'm one of the five people who enjoyed the new Fantastic Four movie. Not a classic, but still a lot better to me than the reviews indicated.

The only thing even remotely exciting to me about the Batman vs. Superman trailer is the presence of Wonder Woman at the end.

On subject...

I saw The Force Awakens twice, on Thursday night and this morning. I'll probably go see it a third time, but I'm going to space the third viewing apart two or three weeks.

Well, there was a noticeable lack of CGI rocks in front of BB-8
