HOUSE OF THE DEVIL

another horror flick with lots of hype (along with Drag Me To Hell and Trick Or Treat) that I was looking forward to but after it was over I was slightly disappointed.

This film was criticized for being too slow but that's the part that I really liked. The mood and the creepy home were very effective and the build-up was reaching an uncomfortable level just before all hell broke loose.

The last 20 minutes or so just didn't do it for me-- I'm not even sure what I was expecting but what happened seemed just "been there done that" for me.

I loved the 70's-80's "look" of the movie-- that part was quite creative and unique for a current horror flick. The scene right before the ending where she's wandering around the house was very frightening.

Overall a very well made fright flick that I'm glad I own but once again I'm waiting for the next GREAT horror flick

3.5 out of 5.0

The only problem is, he did it so well that now I look at all RDJ roles and expect Tony Stark out of him. I went into "Sherlock Holmes" expecting to see Tony Stark in action again. I was (pleseantly) surprised to see him do a decent Sherlock Holmes instead.

Check out some of his earlier roles--he's an incredible actor! Most notably, Chaplin.

I watched a film today called "You Don't Know Jack", with Al Pacino.

Bloody brilliant film it was. Al Pacino was awesome, as was Danny Huston as the supporting actor. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. I hope this gets recognized at the next film awards, whatever that may be.

4.5/5.

The Warriors

Cheese at it's finest, every actor in this seems to either over act or is over cool, it's just a fun movie, with a nice pace

I knew who he was before Iron Man because I had seen him in a few other movies way back, but I never really took notice until Iron Man.

I'm glad he wasn't Tony Stark all over again in Sherlock Holmes. I love him as the character, but I think he did another very good job with his Sherlock Holmes.

He is a very good actor. I agree with your praising of him. I'm probably going to check out a few of his other movies eventually from before Iron Man that I skipped over before.

Right on, I've added them to my Netflix queue. My list was getting a little short anyway,

Watched "The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie" movie today!

My God, I forgot how crude the show was, and the movie is probably a grade worse. Not that any of that really bothers me, but I'm sure it will bother someone. I still find myself laughing pretty well at the multitudes of parodies, the occasional satire, the self-parody, and loads of politically incorrect jokes. The story is pretty good, and fits well with the series. The characters are as much fun as they were in the series. It's solid entertainment altogether, but is really only for fans.

Compared to the show, I think the show is still funnier and more entertaining than the movie.

4/5 (entertainment: 4/5, story: 3.5/5, film: 4/5, i/e: 0/5).

The Blu-Ray looked and sounded wonderful. It has a good number of extras that were amusing (and apparently, when the deleted scenes are finished a list of hidden mini-episodes appear, providing some nostalgic clips from the series). The DIY 3-D glasses was the best though....
[Show spoiler]it's a demonstration performed by a topless woman. BEST EXTRA FEATURE EVER!!!

Cabin Fever (Unrated Director's Cut)

I haven't watched this movie in about four years, and watching it today really made me realize a few flaws i either didn't notice before or notice as much before.

It's a fun movie. It can actually be quite scary at times, but still has a very odd sense of humor and some very almost cornball-ish type scenes that can be seen as "random". I personally love the "pancakes!" scene and think it ties in well with the film as a whole. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a good thing.

The writing however, is very simplistic. I'm guessing that's because this is Eli Roth's first major film, that that is why. It doesn't ruin the film, seeing as horror movies don't have the best writing, but it definitely doesn't age well. But it is a plus that the characters are all somewhat interesting and diverse.

Always holds my attention well, although I'm not sure if I like the "unrated director's cut" more...

in the end: 7.5/10

Well, watched Blade: Trinity last night, and Blade II is far better in my opinion!
I didn't like the villain Drake at all, he didn't do much in the movie he was just ''there''. Also the scene where he is threatening to throw a baby of a roof is just plain stupid, I mean c'mon. Deacon Frost & Nomak were way better villains!
Jessica Biel looked hott though, I''ll have to admit that.

John Carpenters The Thing, Looks and sounds great for a 20+ year old film and it still holds up well as a good sci fi/horror film.

A Hard Days Night 4/5

Looks good (for an Alliance title)...but what really stands out it the quality of the audio - the DTS-MA of the music is as good as I have ever heard the Beatles sound!! If you are a fan it is a must-have!

That is just so much win that Foggy has to change it

I couldn't finish the movie, maybe it's all the cheese? Anyways I think I expected more from the praise it gets.

U are in the majority there. As for Deacon Frost he was by far the best villain but there is no argument there as Blade part 1 is easily the best of the series. Damn near perfect comic book film. But I prefer Drake over Nomak anyday. Got Em!!
