A well made trailer does not a good film make, but at least I am now intrigued.

This being said, the actors still look way off their supposed roles imo
(way too young to start with), but at least for now I'm willing to give this a chance.

They purposefully stayed way clear of any contentious areas to give us a trailer that could have been for a ton of Sci Fi movies, from Interstellar to Project Almanac...

There is nothing about the trailer that I think is terrible. I just feel like it was hiding behind that narration, as to not really giving us what it will really feel like.

I have zero problems with them trying to imitate the X-Men movie universe. It's been successful for Fox, so I have no problems with that. People complain about seriousness, but part of the problem with the original two movies is that they were often too corny. People need to stop getting bent out of shape over comic book movies taking the serious route. Comic book films is a genre. If comedies can be both light hearted or dark, and dramas can be both serious or comedic, then this genre can too.

Go back and read them. Read all of mine. My opinion still hasn't changed. This teaser did nothing but make my stance even stronger. This doesn't look like a FF movie. This looks like Fox making a dark and gritty film and slapping the Fantastic Four name on it because they can't do them properly.

I like the teaser and I like the approach, reminds me a lot of First Family by Joe Casey (Which was essentially "Fantastic Four Vertigo Style") which was one of the few thing I read of the f4, I admit, but I still think it's a legitimete approach to the material.

Considering the main problem with the Jessica Alba installments was they were too campy, this isn't too surprising...

All I could think of was Interstellar when watching the trailer...it even has a cornfield!

The teasers even match up pretty well.

I'd say it's more in line with the X-Men films, and those have been just fine. Well, far more than just fine for it's latest installment.

Two problems with your comparison...

1) Most comedies and dramas aren't based on pop-culture literature

2) Not all comic books are dark and serious. Some are like that, while others are campy. Generally speaking "Fantastic Four" usually lands in the middle, with a slight lean toward the more campy side. For all its faults, Tim Story's first movie got most of the tone right; the sequel sucked, though.

Seems like you have a very specific vision for what this film should be, and I don't think anyone can live up to that.
