But $8 extra for it??

Just seems pretty unreasonable to me...
Seems like you'd be happier to get it then so I'd say go for it and support them!

If it's paying 2 bucks more for a slip, or not having them around in the future, I'll pay the 2 bucks.
The prices for FCE's Blu-ray titles aren't bothering me to be honest. Yes, I have only purchased one title from them since they were no longer one of the Partner labels, and I wish I could get a few titles of theirs at once (can only get them in bits), but I keep a regular eye on their availability.

One of FCE's Facebook posts yesterday (Monday) I found a bit confusing. Eventually, I was hoping to purchase their bundle of the two Strangers Kiss slipcovers with the Blu-ray. I couldn't understand the wording of their Facebook post properly, but I got the gist of it. Checked their website, and that bundle is now "sold out". You can still buy the Blu-ray with each slipcover though (two separate listings).

I don't care for slipcovers, so I'll be getting the regular edition of Bad Company. I usually throw away my slipcovers the moment I get them, but that's just me.

I'm guessing FCE also picked up some other Paramount titles, so will be exciting to see what they got.

I decided after some thought to just bite the bullet... this is a film I know I'm gonna like.

But the increased price for slip editions... and the fact they seem no longer available at boutiques... is really gonna make me think twice going forward.

I used to be that way too... I never got into slipcovers until a few years ago when I started seeing the really nice thick ones VS was doing... then the bug bit me!

T.R. Baskin and The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz were both from Paramount.

Had no idea FCE even released these, until now. Didn't know the Paramount deal was old news.

Never saw that response. Was knee deep playing Dark Souls, so I wasn't frequenting the forum that much when they replied.

I use the feature at the top of the site to keep track of anytime my posts are quoted. But I understand how easy it is to overlook a reply. Just giving you a heads up that you did get an answer in the other thread.

VS catalog slips have been at least $8 each since they started doing them. Is that price high? Yeah, but home video collectors obviously go crazy over slipcovers and are clearly willing to pay that.

Yeah, $8 more for the slipcover seems like it was standard for VS releases, but maybe they were only $6 more. But I’ll echo what that other guy said: support FCE! Jonathan’s a real one and his taste is impeccable.

It's time to make a choice Duke. No more fence sitting, either Dark Souls or Bru-lay.com. Choose wisely...

A nice FCE package came today.
A huge thanks goes to Jonathan for the Duddy Kravitz reversible disc art.
A nice surprise. The Stranger's Kiss VHS slip is a banger!

WHOA!

Wow!. Never expected to see this- especially from FCE.

I saw this at the theater back in the day, and was so smitten by Cates, that I went back multiple times and stayed for multiple shows.
Not a great movie by any stretch. But a nice pulpy adventure romp for a horny adolescent (which I was at the time) with Cates charmingly supplying the fantasy/wish fulfillment element.

Tell ya what FCE- You kick out a nice slip for this and I'll PO direct, day one!

I'm still waiting for them to announce Heavenly Bodies but I wouldn't dare ask again. I asked them once and they were a bit short with their response saying they will release it when they're ready. So I was like "ok then". LOL

In the Heavenly Bodies thread, I wondered aloud if they had also grabbed Paradise because it and Heavenly Bodies are the two biggest titles from the RSL library. They couldn't sell Paradise to the Letterboxd crowd but they also know this is a highly sought after title that has had only one legitimate disc release (the Universal/StudioCanal European DVD). I noticed they didn't have Letterboxd do the Paradise announcement on their social media accounts

After this announcement, I hope they will dig deeper into the RSL library because most of the movies have never been released on disc

If they did license it from Entertainment One/Lionsgate, I wonder if they also grabbed Paradise (1982)? I'd also like a blu-ray of Perfect Timing (1986) which is listed in the catalog (starring some of the cast from Breaking All The Rules (1985)) but the movie is too obscure and more appropriate for Vinegar Syndrome or Severin.
