I watched a bit. Boosting out of turns looks fun but overall I just don't see it being for me. At least not a day 1 full price purchase. It's out November 20th. Odd having two 1st party racers in the first 6 months.
Getting worried about Prime not making 2025 at this point. ZA Legends and Pokemon are October. |

Presentation looked OK and I imagine I'll get the game at some point. Seems weird seeing this game, which I believe Sakurai basically admitted was very similar to Mario Kart, coming out in the console launch year, right alongside Mario Kart World. I get the impression it's probably not something Nintendo on the whole wanted right now, but they probably gave in to Sakurai on this given it's clearly a passion project on his part and been decades since the last Kirby game.
Game looks very solid, but it's still disheartening to see TWO big Nintendo first party racing games, but still absolutely no sign of F-Zero ever making a comeback. Not like they'd even have to make it in house. The last F-Zero game was farmed out to the studio that now makes Yazuka and Monkey Ball games, and it was outstanding. |

At this point early December is all they have left unless they near-shadow drop it in September which seems highly unlikely. |

We should know more for sure next month, assuming Nintendo doesn't skip their usual September direct again. |

An FYI for those not aware. I purchased the below USB hub the other day on the cheap. My plan was to use it to charge a couple wireless Nintendo Switch™ 2 Pro Controllers. Unfortunately the controllers require more power than is supported by the hub, even when powering the hub via a power adapter versus the dock or Switch 2 itself.
![]() (A review on the PowerA™ website states that the USB hub only supports wired controllers for the Nintendo Switch.) That being said, I own 4 N64 controllers which I use with the Switch 2, a couple Nintendo 64™ controllers I picked up recently in addition to a couple Saffun controllers. I've had the Saffun controllers for some time now. I use them with my N64 when gaming in the home theater. In any event, the USB hub does support all 4 controllers including the dongles. No issues charging or pairing the controllers when the USB hub is connected to the dock. Last edited by AmishParadise; 08-20-2025 at 01:19 AM. |

Nice to see Indiana Jones confirmed for Switch 2 in 2026, probably means Doom: The Dark Ages is next. Both use idTech, both had Nvidia partnerships, and the previous two Doom games were on Switch.

Does that mean inserting the Switch game card will get you a Switch 2 digital copy for a dollar? Will you need to keep the last-gen game inserted (similar to upgrading PS4 physical to PS5 digital)?

Kirby games are meant primarily for kids and casual players. They aren't meant to be hardcore.

The cool thing that makes kirby air riders stand out from a majority of kirby games is that theres a lot of small depth to it like the smash bros series that really adds up to a very satisfying gameplay loop where no match plays out the same that hardcore players can really get behind. Im super excited to see air ride return and get all these new auditions and tweaks.

While yes, the Switch 2 sold a bunch of consoles out of the gate, overall demand is very soft. Pretty much everyone who wanted one got one on launch day - preorders were meaningless, you could walk in to just about any major retailer on launch day (and even the following day) and find one if you wanted one. The reddit-kidz were squealing with delight that "they" beat the scalpers - practically squirting all over themselves that people who did buy to resell couldn't sell them over cost. They also didn't realize that the same thing they were cheering was just showing how little demand there really is for the system. Even now, new shipments are sitting in stores for days at a time (my local Walmart had them out for at least five days earlier in the month before they all finally sold). I'm sure it will still sell decently this holiday season, but then again - I just don't know how many parents out there are going to be able to justify dumping $500 on a new system for each of their kids that even by then are really going to have a very small handful of additional first-party games to play exclusively on it. I think we will find this is the real reason Nintendo jacked up the price of the first system - to make the Switch 2 seem like a better deal. Unless something drastic happens and suddenly demand shoots through the roof, I have a feeling with third party we are in for a Wii U situation where things just quietly get cancelled and announcements just dry up. At the very least, they aren't going to be spending tons of money to optimize their multi-platform titles for the lesser hardware of the Switch 2 - the ports will just get lazier and lazier as cash grabs. |

[Nintendo Corporate] WARPSTAR Inc., a company previously created by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory to manage the Kirby IP, will be renamed to Nintendo Stars Inc. The company will manage licensing of Nintendo IP used in movies for merch, live events, etc. This company is not intended to be involved in the actual production of movies. Nintendo says it will be responsible for "ancillary-use business", defined as "taking Nintendo characters and worlds from films to apply and expand in other forms, including live events and [merch]". |
