Hey bud! They're awesome. A year and a half later, they're still amazing. I have a review somewhere around here (my gallery thread aint what it used to be) if you want to take a look. It was a big leap from my old 683S1s.

I don't know why but wearing prescription glasses and then 3D glasses really degrades the 3D effect...I could barely get a sense of the depth or pop. Now its a different story.

Strongly suggest folks who wear prescription glasses to try eye contacts and then watch a 3d movie....its night and day difference
I enjoy 3D movies, but after 6 months now of watching them, I will say I don't see the need to replace existing movies I have with their 3D versions. But watching new movies Ive never seen in 3D is really a great experience.

And as both a contacts and eyeglasses wearer I can say I NEVER watch movies with my glasses on.

Hope the rest of this forum is well.

I'll be doing a "using-TV-as-poster-frame" mod this weekend for my place. Been thinking about it since I saw TKNice do it years ago, and just never got around to it.

I saw a similar concept done with art at a modern art gallery here last week, and that was the final push. I've already bought all the equipment, cables, wiring, brackets I'll need for this, I'm setting one up this weekend at home.

I'll create a new thread for it in the General Discussion for progress, and post results pics here.

Since TKNice put up that thread four years ago that I resuscitated, Ive always had the idea to do one of my own - but for x/y reason could never justify the cost of executing it.

Then a pair of weeks ago I visited the PAMM art gallery here in Miami were they were doing something similar, and I was sold. I had to execute it.

Originally I planned on putting it on a blank wall that I have by the entry to my condo:

...but my lady convinced me that it would look far better on this wall here, more of a centerpiece:

And to move the Jaws poster to the entry wall.

In any case, what you need is the following:

- TV with slideshow feature & USB input (unless you wanna hook it up to a Mac/Windows which I didn't)
- Portrait Wall Mount ($15, Monoprice)
- (2) In-wall brackets and 1-gauge wall plate to run the power cord in wall
- Flex tubing to put the power cord in
- Drywall anchors since the wall mount isn't wide enough to hit two studs
- USB with posters

I also wanted to build a matte black frame around it to hide the wires/wall mount, so I bought some PVC board.

Its best to pick, in my opinion, a TV with a narrow bezel and a thin (2" or so) frame for it to look best, so I settled on a 39" Panasonic LED ($300 at Best Buy) which approximates a 24x36 poster. I went with a 32" first but it's way too tiny.

You'll need levels, rulers, screwdrivers, drill, painter's tape, etc - the usual tools you should have.

Time to start!

Hell Yes, Olivier!

That plus the ZT65 have now made me spend so many weekends indoors. I am complete.

Let me tell you how I put the flash drive into the ZT just to see how they'd look and I was like, "DAMN, maybe I should use this as a poster"
