When I first saw Aliens in the theater, some little prick behind me kept telling his friend what was about to happen in every scene. I was furious by the end of the movie.
My wife spoiled The Da Vinci Code when I was about half-way through the book. "Oh, I thought everyone knew what that book was about" |

I don't care if someone describes the complete movie, it don't effect my enjoyment of it

I've been racking my brain (and carefully reading this thread) but I honestly can't think of a single film that has been spoiled for me. There are several reasons why:
I tend to see movies on their release days/weekends. This practice goes back decades. For example, I saw Empire Strikes Back on opening day at 5:00 in the morning. Other commonly "spoiled" titles like The Crying Game, The Usual Suspects, Se7en, and The Matrix were all seen on opening night, so their surprises were still intact. (In the case of The Sixth Sense, I figured that one out myself within the first 10 minutes. Although I guess you could say that the trailers spoiled that movie for me. "I see dead people." What could be more obvious?) In the case of older films, my first experience of them was frequently on TV in the pre-cable, pre-Internet days. I first saw Psycho as a kid on my local station's 11:30pm Saturday night movie. (It was uncut and I had absolutely NO idea what was coming.) Ditto Vertigo, Citizen Kane, Planet of the Apes, etc. While movies have been unspoiled, television shows are another matter. Quite a few of them have been spoiled over the years. It got particularly bad several years ago, when every online news or entertainment website would post crap like "Behind that Shocking Death on Game of Thrones" -- with a picture of the newly deceased. ![]() |

Well, I went to the cinema here in Italy to see Godzilla: KOTM (It sucked balls) in English at its only English screening. I forgot my headphones, and during the trailers I say there fully knowing that I would get screwed with Endgame spoilers by the new Spiderman trailer.
And I was. It was also the cinema's fault I hadn't even seen Endgame, as for some inexplicable reason they hadn't showed it in English. The Bluray cover for Life is very spoilery. I suggest you don't read it if you blind buy that film like I did. |

I’ve had plot turns or twists spoiled for me but a great film should have more going for it than surprise reveals. So a genuinely good films will still be compelling, despite spoilers.
Some movies with plot twists actually get better in a repeat viewing, when you can see how it’s all been set up. A recent example Pe for me was the horror film Hereditary. Many seemed to be thrown by the swerve into supernatural horror in the last twenty minutes after the bulk of the movie was a dark family drama, but on a rewatch there are lots of clues which set up the end. Hitchcock’s Vertigo is a classic movie which gets much richer once you know the twist and see what leads up to it. |

I kept hearing that something really shocking happens in the middle of the book A Storm of Swords. When I finally got to the red wedding, I wasn't that impressed. Mostly just numb.
