Building my first ever PC!!!!!!
I pretty much have everything, just waiting on one SSD to be delivered. Case: Antec Dark League DP502 Flux PSU: Corsair RM750e CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 12th Gen Alder Lake Motherboard: MSI MPG Z690 Carbon Wifi DDR5 LGA 1700 Memory: Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32GB) GPU: MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3060 Storage: Seagate Firecuda 8TB HDD (to be main drive) Samsung 870e EVO 2TB SSD (for Windows) I'm supposed to be getting a 120GB SSD as a gift for the 2TB SSD shipping delay; not sure if I will use this or not. CPU Cooler: Enermax ETS-F40 ARGB |

Agreed, but it was DLSS 3 that got me to do a double take. If there's any truth behind Nvidia's planned incremental tech updates conspiracy to keep suckers like me upgrading... well, there it is. <sigh>

So this is my current setup (from 2021) before I add the 4070 Super.
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X MB: MSI Bazooka B450M GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 32 GB (2x16) PSU: Thermaltake SP-650P Smart Series 650W Case: Don't remember. It's black and has a window. ![]() HD #1 (OS/data): Samsung Evo 860 1TB SSD HD #2 (Games): Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB SSD PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe HD# 3 (data only): 6 TB Disc Drive KB #1: Logitech G710+ Mouse #1.1: Logitech G600 MMO mouse Mouse #1.2: Logitech G902 Lightspeed KB #2: Logitech G915 Lightspeed Mouse #2: Logitech G604 Lightspeed VR: Oculus Rift S I have multiple machines between my rig and work, which is why I have multiple input devices. One set is on a 4-port HDMI 4k UHD 120 Hz KVM, the other is dedicated to my rig. For audio, I have everything connected to a 5.4.2 Atmos configuration. Gear is in my sig under "Office HT/Mancave". Hopefully no bottlenecking once I get the 4070 S running, but as it stands the 3070 itself is the bottle neck. ![]() I also have a ASUS TUF F15 RTX 3070 gaming laptop. This has been my favored couch/mobile gaming device until recently. ![]() My main monitor is a Samsung QLED 32:9 CHG9 49" super ultrawide. I originally got it for gaming, but it has become my productivity/work monitor for the real estate. I also have a LG C1 48" OLED TV mounted above the Samsung, which I primarily game on now over the Samsung. Who says Windows HDR has to look like schidt? My secondary monitor that I use with the laptop for living room/couch gaming or when I want to work in the main room and not in the mancave is a Alienware 34" QD/OLED Curved Ultrawide (AW3423DWF). But now, the following are fast replacing the gaming laptop. So much easier with this setup not having to haul out my gear and just plop on the couch and hang with the wife on the evenings while she watches her shows. The augmented reality OLED glasses are an eye saver, which project the equivalent of a 200" screen. If you're like me and have been reluctant to pick up a handheld due to vision problems (I'm far sighted and small screens blur my vision), these are a great - if not perfect - solution. They should work with any device that can output video over USB-C (or with a hdmi dock + adapter), so they also work with the Steam Deck (and even your mobile). Brought my old 900d out of retirement until i get all the parts for my new dynamic xl rog build. Here is some pics of me starting the 900d build and tweaking things to what it is right now. It has 3 480 rads, amd 5800x3d cpu, amd 6950 gpu and did midplate/hdd bay cover. This will be my back up gaming pc once the dynamic xl is done.

Quick pic of the finished build, still need to order a better cable extension for the gpu as i forgot they have a newer plug style now. I know this card is not the most powerful but damn do i like it's size, it is smaller than the 1070 it replaced.... |

3 front fans pull air in, the back and top push air out. I wanted the bottom fans to also push air in but the connector on these fans will not allow me to flip the fans around unfortunately, a flaw in this case design using these newer corsair fans.

![]() Honestly though, the only time I notice it while under load is if I pause and alt+tab out of a game, but it definitely isn't louder, or even loud to me. |

Glad to see this thread still going strong! OP brings back a lot of memories! Forgot I had that dual drive BD/HD-DVD-ROM in that Dell I still have in my attic! I might go ahead and take it out and put it in one of my current rigs, because it makes more sense than hooking up an HD-DVD player (which I also still have, lol).

Same... trying to play BDs on a PC is really more trouble than it's worth. I was able to switch the region on the BD-RW I have in this PC now to watch Region B BDs (basically just Berserk, which is about to come out domestically). I might put my old solid state drive (OG non M2 type) in my old Dell too. I wonder if I can install Windows 11... I doubt it the motherboard is ancient, but it might be worth installing 10... I have no idea what version of Windows is even on it now but I know it's before 10.

Speaking of old stuff, I finally went through and dumped all my legacy parts that I had taking up storage drawers in my garage. Until I cleaned house I still had a couple of 3.5" floppy drives and a bunch of floppies, multiple CD and DVD ROM drives, PS/2 gaming kb/mice, IDE drive AND cables, and even a 32-Bit VESA Local Bus video card lol. ![]() |
