Just don't watch it on Netflix first, then it won't bother you at all. That's what ruined it for me. Saw the DVD set at FYE's today for $14.99 new. Almost bought it.... but buying DVD's are against my religion.

Just seen this on HMV U.K., with postcards for £14.99 and they have one without postcards for £34.99. In fact I have noticed Zoom have it for £15 and 10% off your first order and it's £18.99 on Zavvi so coming down nicely, have ordered mine from HMV with postcards.

The UK release is only about $11.33 (excluding shipping) on Amazon UK.

I have the OOP UK HMV exclusive with the artcards (standard on US release?), the one on Amazon is the same 3 discs bt no artcards. Their listings on this site don't have region coding info, but I put disc one in my player set to region A and it played fine (I won't add region coding to the listing though***). But I read that apparently they just use the same disc images worldwide.

*** I don't tend to add region coding info to titles pages, unless they give the "does not play in this region" screen. The reason, I could set my player to region A, and it plays fine for me. But if there was PAL content pre-menu etc it would work fine for me, but trip up a US player.

Region coding is a non existent concept on Star Trek Blurays

If that's the case, if you want various Star Trek series then importing the UK sets would be a great option.
For comparison, the US Animated set it $30 on Amazon. The TNG compete US set, $121 vs approx $51.52 (excluding shipping) for UK set.

I'm all up to date with Trek, just wanted to mention the lack of coding.

Same, was just wanting to point out to others that may be looking at getting some or all of the Star Trek series on blu-ray, to keep an eye on the UK sets via Amazon UK etc. as they could save sometimes significant money.

However the two remaining series on DVD, Voyager and DS9, best avoided though due to PAL compatibility which is still an issue for most US players.

I should add only the Blurays are region free. DVD's are not and are region specific aswell as being in PAL.

Bluray wise you might want to keep an eye on other Amazon sites like the Italian one where prices often dip to very low levels.
Also they sometimes do a "Buy 5" or even "Buy 10" titles and the prices go unbelievably low

Hello everybody,
I am a French-speaking Star Trek fan, and I have one question concerning the French audio (finally) available on this Region 1 Blu-Ray set.
In fact, the French dub was made in Quebec, Canada, just like TOS. Fortunately, unlike a lot of old dubs made around the same time, it was preserved and available overseas in the Region 2 European DVD set released several years ago.
The only problems with that set were that 1) The original French Canadian opening narration was re-dubbed, and 2) The 16th episode, called "The Jihad", was entirely re-dubbed in France with new voice actors. Was the original dub lost or damaged ? That, I don't know.
Now that this Blu-Ray set is on the market, I am extremely curious to know if all the original French Canadian elements are available, especially on the 16th episode.
Could someone confirm if that's the case ? I know most of you don't understand the language, so a short audio recording of about 2 or 3 minutes sent via private message would be enough to satisfy me.
Thank you.

I just bought it for £8.66 + £3.08 standard shipping to the US at Amazon.co.uk.
That works out to a total of $15.61 at the current exchange rate of £1=$1.33.

I came to this forum via a Google search for "Star Trek TAS audio sync." So to those who think it's an imaginary problem, it was me noticing the audio being ahead of the video that caused me to find this thread, not being made aware of it because of this thread. I've only watched 4 episodes from the box set but some of the audio is very noticeable. I take it there was never any resolution to this?

I found one, I sold my Blu-ray set a while ago. I found the DVD set at FYE's today for $9.99. This is the first time I purchased a DVD in 7 years, but no sync issues at all. Nice looking set, but not very functional, terrible actually. So I made the cover below for those that like uniformity or just want to fool themselves into thinking that this is a Blu-ray. Cover is sized for a 15mm 4-disc blu-ray case. I'll take credit for the front, but (Fejinwales) designed the back with a resize by me of all the elements and then tweaked a few so it would fit a blu-ray case ... (yeah I know, not a DVD Forum).

I'm using this one...

I was just about to buy this, but then found this thread about the audio sync issue on the entire blu ray set. (Oddly, not mentioned in the official review on this site.) No sale.
