Haha, yeah, thanks. Unfortunately, due to the timing, we couldn't go out to another writer. The disc needed to go into production. Certainly had others we'd have gone to.

I watched Alphabet City. What an awesome movie. The best of what I love from movies and 80s movies as well. A cross between the works of Martin Scorsese (After Hours, Taxi Driver) and lighter fare like The Last Dragon.

Between this and the other announced/available releases I haven't heard of any of them. I love discovering new films and am happy to have discovered this and hope others do the same. Thanks.

Thanks for writing this! As the quote on the packaging says, ALPHABET CITY is part of the all-in-one-night NYC movie tradition that includes AFTER HOURS. THE WARRIORS and ENEMY TERRITORY fit in nicely, too.

I hadn't realized that. And thanks for the recommendations.

Hi, any thoughts on the never released on DVD or Blu ray, 1986 Neo noir OUT OF BOUNDS?

It’s neon tinged aesthetic would hang nicely with Alphabet City!

This is with Sony, I believe. “Never say never,” as Debora Iyall sang.

I’d love to see Fun City take on Martha Coolidge’s City Girl (1984). Produced by Peter Bogdanovich, barely released 2 years after it was filmed, and it would definitely please fans of cult films. An essential Canuxsploitation title

I really do hope that you guys will be the ones to get some Ralph Bakshi out, too

Is there a way to tell the stock of Jeremy? I know it is still on preorder, but with only 1,500 to start I don't want to miss out on that slip

I don't know what the current count is, but I imagine you should be safe from missing out for a little while.

Yes, I've seen the Coolidge film.

Bakshi would be good, too.

First of all I would like to say that I am really excited about "Rancho Deluxe", "Smile" and "Jeremy"!

I was browsing the Park Circus website and came out with a list of 1970's MGM titles that I believe would make great Fun City Editions titles (the movies in red are my most wanted):

Country Nurse 1978

Return To Macon County 1975

Where The Lilies Bloom 1974

Echoes Of A Summer 1976

The Unholy Rollers 1972

Uncle Joe Shannon 1978

Born To Win 1971

Jennifer On My Mind 1971

Love At First Sight 1977

The Honkers 1972

Sunnyside 1979

Joyride 1977

The Two Worlds Of Jennie Logan 1979

A Small Town In Texas 1976

Stacey 1973

Dragonfly 1976

And Your Name Is Jonah 1979

Anatomy Of A Seduction 1979

The Way We Live Now 1970

Strange Homecoming 1974

Little Girl, Big Tease 1976

Rich Kids 1979

Sunburn 1979

Lawman 1971

Semi-Tough 1977

Tales Of Erotica 1973

Fyre 1979

Our Winning Season 1978

Pieces Of Dreams 1970

Laure 1976

The Last Snows of Spring 1974

Last Night Of Christmas 1978

My Father's House 1975

These four are already released on Blu-ray in recent years and still available in the US.

The Curious Dr. Humpp, a pre-order from the AGFA partner label, shows a number for the limited slipcover count (as it's under 1000). The other AGFA title does not. Both are limited limited to 1500.

They seem to be good about telling people if the Limited Slipcover is close to selling out whether it's a pre-order or not.

Great to know! Didn't realize they put the numbers up for preorders. Thanks

Thanks, deathshead1987.

Definitely some good titles on that list, some of which latehong has already nicely pointed out as being on Blu-ray and some of which we've already considered ourselves.

RICH KIDS is a favorite of mine, but Olive has released that one on Blu.

With regards to Park Circus, it's a good place to look, though it's not 100% accurate as to what MGM actually has available for home video license here. Also, some of the titles you list, such as UNHOLY ROLLERS, have known music issues. Shout released that title (with its "home video" soundtrack) on a DVD multi-pack.

Joyride has music licensing issues. Kino apparently passed on it because of that.

Sunburn, which I would love to see, has licensing/ownership issues that's prevented it from reaching disc. Not likely to change, unfortunately.

Another one with supposed ownership issues is Night Of The Juggler, which would have been right up this labels alley IMO.
Fun City in it's late seventies, grindhouse heyday.

Aside from JOYRIDE, i believe that there are music issues with UNHOLY ROLLERS (Chuck Berry?) and WHERE THE LILIES BLOOM (The Earl Scruggs Review?).

UNHOLY ROLLERS has been released on DVD, but with the original songs replaced by Kendall Schmidt's synth score).

I'd like to see the 2018 4K restoration of DEMENTIA 13 (1963) ,but i think it's owned by American Zoetrope rather than MGM.

I'm aware of the JOYRIDE music issues and I think it's already come up in this thread. Without the ELO tunes, I think the film loses a good deal of its appeal.

JUGGLER is certainly a white whale of Fun City-era movie-making.
