Pre-orders are now live for Amazon Germany, France, UK and India with no sign of 3D yet.

After Venom 2, I've got a very bad feeling about this one

Vudu pre-order is up as well, sans 3D.

I’d love to be pleasantly surprised but I’ve given up on this one and ordered the Best Buy steelbook.

Were the past spiderman movies in 3D on Vudu?

I just tweeted to sony pictures Japan on twitter - https://twitter.com/SonyPicturesJP - asking for them to release this on 3D bluray. I suggests everyone else here that wants to see this movie in 3D at home do the same!

Homecoming was the last one, so wasn’t expecting anything but it never hurts to take a look. Interestingly Homecoming 2D/3D bundle is on sale for $9.99 - essentially adding the 3D for free.

I have lots and lots of 3D Blu-rays (including every Marvel 3D movie available.)

I went out to see NWH in 3D and like the other Sony 3D Spider-man films, the 3D was underwhelming. If it doesn't make it to a 3D release, I won't feel depressed about it. (I'll buy it, of course, as I still purchase any and all 3D releases.)

Saw in 3D in the theater. Incredible as usual. Now the BIG wait with anticipation if this can possibly be released on blu ray 3D. Hoping for Australia or Japan. Would hate to see the run on MCU end (even if it appears Venom /MCU adjacent won’t get a disk)

Oh I didn’t mention all the preorders that were announced recently. Australia has announced too, looks like no 3D Blu-ray. Unless Sony pull a last minute job with a 3D release like they did for NWH in the U.K., I think it’s only Japan we’re waiting on.

That being said, Far From* Home had immediate 3D preorders everywhere but the U.K. the second it hit cinemas, so the fact we have none at all at this stage after Sony dumped out Venom 2 flat doesn’t bode well.

If Sony set the ball rolling with no 3D for this and then Disney follows suit with no 3D MovieNEX for Doctor Strange 2 I’ll hate them forever lol

I think you mean Far From Home (FFH) not NWH the current theatrical release.

Saw this in IMAX 3D yesterday. The depth was there, but overall, 3D felt almost non-existent. There were plenty of opportunities with the swinging scenes, Ock's tentacles, Goblin's bombs and glider, Electro's sparks, Sandman's particles and of course, Dr Strange's mirror dimension and the magic portals. It was more or less a wasted effort. Just light depth, nothing truly astounding. No time to Die in regular 3D was miles and miles better in the depth department. Didn't expect this poor quality conversion from StereoD, who did such amazing work on Avatar, Titanic and Jurassic Park.

This makes me wonder if IMAX 3D forgot how to do it, because the 3D was very existent when I saw it in RealD. Comments here had lowered my expectations, but this movie's 3D sailed over that low bar: it was better theatrically in 3D for me than Endgame was.

I'll agree that it could have been stronger, and that things like Doc Oc's arms should have swung out into the audience, but the depth was there and a fair few scenes were staged to emphasize the depth. There were also a few pop-out style moments.

There is a Spiderman 3D attraction at Universal Studios Orlando. Why isn't every Spiderman 3D film at least as 3D as that one? Why isn't every RealD presentation as strong as the spinning 3D glasses in the Cinemark "please put on your 3D glasses" ad?

IMO, if this releases on 3D it would be the 2021 film to "vote with your dollar on" for 3D, as it hits the balance between being a fun movie and having decent 3D.

However, there was an elephant or two in the room. At the beginning of the film, when it was getting into the swing of things, I did have some mild eyestrain from the 3D. Did anyone else have this? Also, there is some extreme motion blur in this. For example, there is a scene where Peter Parker movies his finger left-to-right across the screen and it blurs bigly. In 2D this would just be a usual 24 FPS artifact of lateral motion, but in 3D the blur itself is 3D. 3D really needs high frame rate.

Not at all. It's definitely one of the best parts of the movie, especially when you watch it in 4DX. It's just really... intense...

I still have a hard time fathoming this 4DX experience as the Regal here has stadium seating even at its IMAX theaters. "Stadium Seating" being their euphemism for those fold-up cloth seats with no footrest, and that are so narrow that your shoulders are cohabitating with your neighbors' on their chairs.

Unfortunately, Cinemark made the baffling decision to, for this week, make their 3D, DBOX, and XD showings all separate.

Will Regal be showing this in 4DX after the 30th? At present that's when Cinemark is ending their 3D run here, ~1 week after it opened, and it looks like they're serious about it this time

Maybe that means something else at your cinema, but at mine the seats are cloth, but they're fairly comfy, and the footrest is the ground. The 4DX experience wouldn't work at all if you were reclining or had your feet off the ground. It's intense and you need the ground for leverage, and if you were reclining a lot of the weather effects wouldn't hit you properly.

Not had a problem with the size of the seats, but that could vary based on your cinema or your physical build even.

VUDU skipped FAR FROM HOME then surprised me by offering VENOM which gave me false hope for LET THERE BE CARNAGE & NO WAY HOME.

The 4dx seats typicall come with a built-in footrest and there is this little rubber hose that hits your legs in parts to give you a little scare sometimes. Plus the footrest moves with the seat…at least that’s how it is at the ones I’ve been to…but the 3D absolutely sucks…they spent all their money in the practical in-theater effects and forgot to get a bright bulb for their dim projector rendering the 3D practically unwatchable…

Regal here uses those sad old cloth seats with the rounded tops to the seatback, which are so narrow that man woman and presumably child all have wider shoulders than it, and the spring-loaded flip-down seat bottoms. Basically if you could teleport someone from 40 years ago into the Regal near me, he'd have no idea that he is in the future.

At Cinemark, DBOX is incorporated into leather recliners that have footrests. The seat somehow takes into account the position of your reclining when it moves itself in response to the movie.

It's a nice effect, but it commands a 50%+ price premium over a normal ticket. That said, I'd have paid it to see Spiderman NWH in 3D DBOX, had it been offered.

I hear that the 3D at my Regal still sucks as well, so I waited a week to see Spiderman NWH in 3D at Cinemark at 10 bucks a ticket with bright 3D, rather than pay 20+ bucks a ticket and roll the dice on 3D quality.

Uggh was really hoping there'd be a foreign 3D release. I guess there's still some possibilities but not looking good. Don't even know if I'll be 3D capable (beyond PSVR) in a year or 2 when a hypothetical RSM release might show up.

Actually no sorry to correct you but venom 1 was released in 2018 where as far from home was released in 2019 so it makes sense that Vudu released venom but not far from home by the way they also didn’t release the 3D version of into the spider verse which came out after venom in 2018 so venom was Vudu last 3D film of 2018 and since venom no 3D film from Sony comes out on Vudu in 3D though maybe if we all call Vudu and demand and plead for more 3D version of films released in 3D it might help.
