Spider-Man: No Way Home played theatrically in 3D but the only 3D Blu-ray edition is the Australian one released by Random Space Media. All other disc editions and home formats are flat. Just like those, the RSM release is letterboxed with no expanded IMAX aspect ratio. The 2D disc is region free but the 3D disc is locked to Region B - when played in a Region A player all you will get is a "wrong region" screen featuring the characters from Hotel Transylvania 3.

That's pretty good news. Especially as that poster is tacitly screaming "This CG was made for 3D"

I notice that there's no 3D option for this trailer. Would RealD be interested in having one released?

On a side note, when will someone tell Zendaya that squinting and grimacing are not acting?

I'm excited, though not surprised. It's unfathomable they'd make a movie featuring this much Doctor Strange and NOT make it for 3D.

She's not the one to be blamed... her acting teacher and movies directors are!

In far from home she did a good acting whe she was webbing with spider-man.

Yes I have been told it was definitely getting a 3D release by my friend working on the movie.... they are in the final rendering stage at the moment.

Just trying to find out if he can confirm a 3D Blu-ray release. Hope so as Spider-Man FFH had fantastic 3D

I do wish they'd get her some better ones. I'm still having "PTSD" after seeing Dune 2021 which featured a lot of close-ups of her making a pouting face while squinting like Clint Eastwood.

Nice that you've still got friends on the inside. I feel like there's an appropriate movie quote for this, but then I remembered it's from Battlefield Earth...

Spiderman FFH was one of the films that really got the idea that MCU films are made for 3D to click with me, because the illusion and drone fight scenes were in 2D but in 3D were great stuff.

I wish RealD would do some marketing of its own to hype their conversions up, pointing out the truth that the MCU films are made to be seen in 3D. All the reviews that I've seen for 2021 MCU films dump on how bad the visuals look, and none of these reviewers saw the 3D version.

Which is why IMO it's audience ignorance, not disinterest, that hurts the 3D ticket sales. C'mon RealD, make some hype to counter that ignorance.

I've not seen it in 2D but totally agree that both of those scenes in particular are reference quality 3D...as good as anything else from the MCU in that regard.

How would your friend be able to confirm a 3D blu? I'm assuming VFX teams have no say or input in that, and that your friend is US based when (if we get it at all) I assume any 3D blu will be limited to somewhere like the UK or Germany.

Or is this friend actually working on the 3D conversion?

I agree with your assessment but he is going to ask around all the same... I would think that the studios themselves would probably keep this information in house but it doesn't hurt to ask

Random Space Media put this trailer on IG today. There was nothing about a Blu-Ray or 3D release, they're more so celebrating the movie with Sony, but seeing as how they have Spiderman collections they might be the best bet for this one.

I'm sure they don't consider a detail about a 3D bluray release a big deal. Here's hoping they release it on 3D and don't stiff us like with Venom 2.

Ghostbusters is 2D flat only! It was never converted to 3D.

New trailer is out tomorrow, November 16 at 5 PM for US and Canada, and on Wednesday morning, November 17 for UK, Germany, India, rest of Asia and Europe, Australia, New Zealand and whatnot. RealD 3D release in December. So excited for this.

I'm hoping the film gets back to more of the adventure of the first one, Spider-Man Homecoming, compared to 2nd film, Far From Home, IMO/in my opinion. The 3D should be solid like the first two as expected.

Thanks. I was hoping for awhile there that Ghostbusters Afterlife would have gotten a 3D conversion. That would be a great movie for strong 3D. Missed opportunity there especially with all the ghosts floating in the air, emerging from stuff, and the special effects.

Spiderman NWH is going to be incredible…probably the biggest blockbuster of the year, imo! If that’s not enough to justify a 3D bluray release then Sony are fools!
