If you don't like 3D movies and don't care about IMAX, would Sinemia even be worth it? Because I don't see the appeal for it's service when compared to Moviepass.

No would not be worth it. I like to see certain movies in IMAX so having it works out for me.

For all other movies within the month, I would utilize MoviePass

I am trying to map out how many *IMAX* movies will be coming out these next few months. I know Thor, Justice League, and Star Wars will round out the year. This would be awesome for next year (Pacific Rim 2 baby!)

I honestly dont care for either. So MP is ideal.

Honestly, this Sinemia could be worth it because they offer a couple of art-house theaters in my area that Moviepass doesn't include. So for $10/2 movies, I could see the more limited release films at those places.

Or, I guess, if I really had nothing to do one day I could see a movie using each service. See 2 films a day.

The Arthouse theaters over here are covered by MP which makes me really excited. I plan to finally visit one this weekend.

Oh snap, this might be worth it then...but to be honest maybe I will start that in January 2018 or whatever movie that is played in real IMAX after star wars. We know that star wars will hold the IMAX screens for at least 4 week. Seeing a movie that was shot in real imax on a real imax screen is worth going for. Transformers 5 Imax Presentation was really good when I saw it at Udvar Hazy.

To the people who actually get responses in the MoviePass chat/conversation thing--you're lucky!

I've been trying to find out why one (and only one) Regal-owned theater is no longer listed as accepting MoviePass, while the other 2 in my town are still listed.

No answer.

How does a theater go "POOF" from the list? I thought if they accepted MasterCard then they accept movie pass...... unless.........they are cracking down on theaters where people are actively abusing the system and they turn that theater OFF and screw anyone who is using MP as intended.

hmm...

In the terms of service, Movie Pass says "luxury theaters" are not supported. It's a vague term, but from what I've seen, the two theaters near me not supported while others in the same chain are use reclining seats and charge more for that (whereas those which also have recliners, but don't extra or at least are in the grace period prior to a $2 surcharge, are allowed).

No idea.

The movie in question is the East Warren Theatre. Regal bought out the previous local owner (named Bill Warren), who had a total of 5 theatres in the Wichita, KS area (4 of which bore his namesake). One of the local news stations ran an article about MoviePass and the author said that it worked at the East Warren (which is where I prefer to see my movies). The day I signed up for it, the East Warren was no longer listed, but the West Warren Theatre and the Old Town Warren Theatre are both still listed (the other two that Regal bought don't accept any credit cards, so they were never part of MoviePass).

I just find it incredibly strange that MoviePass is still accepted at the other 2, but not at this one in particular...and I don't know why it's not.

Isn't the Alamo Drafthouse considered a Luxury Theater?

I might have to look into the Sinemia thing. Being able to buy tickets in advance, and to a Dolby Cinema screen would be big to me. There is only one theater in my area that is not reserved seating, and it's not a very good one. I also like going to the Dolby Cinema for big movies. So being able to buy ahead of time at a premium screen twice a month for less than the normal cost of one ticket is definitely enticing.

I believe that's because some of the auditoriums at East Warren have recliners and they charge a lot more for a ticket (eg: $16 vs $10 for evening shows).

MP will remove theaters they feel charge more than the area average

Do they charge a lot more than the average in town? If not, then no.

All you MoviePass members go watch The Foreigner - WOW...Fantastic movie, great story, great acting and JC in one of his best performances. Its very underrated and not getting the attention it deserves. I would go so far as in saying that this is the best movie I've seen this year 9/10

I know about Warren 21 (the auditoriums you're referring to), I guess I figured that they would be like the Dolby Cinema theatres at AMC's or IMAX theatres around the country and just have the showings for movies in those specific auditoriums grayed out...no need to remove the whole theatre (while keeping the other two, especially considering the other two have specialized auditoriums as well).

I saw it a few days ago. One of the best of the year is pushing it a bit for me, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. The marketing makes it look like a straight up Bronson-esque revenge movie, but in reality it's got a lot more going on. It reminded me of the Tom Clancy movies they made in the 90's (specifically "Patriot Games"), with all the political thriller stuff going on in it. I haven't seen a ton of Jackie Chan films, but he is very good in this. Both in terms of acting caliber and stunt work. It's a shame it got brushed away at the box office so quickly, cause it really is worth seeing (especially with MoviePass ).

I have debated seeing that, but now you’ve convinced me!

Even with Moviepass, I can't bring myself to see The Foreigner. Just absolutely zero interest. I'm not a Jackie Chan fan. I'm not a martial arts fan. Those types of movies just have no appeal to me whatsoever.
