Yeah, iam not one to read many books but HEAT 2 i’ll Definitely be picking up a paperback at the very least.
I think Mann should have maybe done another Movie in 98/89 Concentrating on Vincent Hanna’s Crew of Robbery Homicide Division with a Fresh story.
I think they will do HEAT 2 Film but prob as a Netflix type project.

Westworld S3 4K has (now, anyway - not sure what it was on first release) stacked discs rather than a Viva Elite for its six discs.

Appreciate that's a small sample size, but each was an unwelcome surprise!

Not at all and I doubt it will ever happen, but the book sounds interesting.

I still don´t get the decision by Disney going cheap and put an almost 3 hour film on a 66gb disc and forgo a 100gb one

I Fully agree, 100G Disc is a must for this Film. They did the same with Star Wars.
Simply Cheaping out.

Considering the extensive recasting that will have to be involved, not really. It should probably remain in book form.

As long as it doesn't result in any encoding issues then that's fine, it's not like adding another 33.4GB will alter the fundamental look of the 2017 grade (which is the #1 leading cause of complaints).

I did have a ding dong with dvdmike over using a UHD66 for this specific film and I still think those concerns were justified, but it looks like Disnee have gone and done it again, albeit aided by very soft-looking source material that isn't wall-to-wall action. It's rather cruel that they've got such a good authoring house and yet Disnee don't give a shit about physical media, while other disc-loving studios and labels employ Chad the intern to encode stuff on his laptop during a lunch break.

(My normal listening level for normal viewing would be -20,-22 etc)

The movie at certain times does have a lot of hiss, especially annoying during some of the intimate dialogue scenes. I Can't understand why this wasn't edited out as this kind of hiss is really easy to remove without affecting anything else.
For example, When Vincent returns to his wife in the restaurant after investigating the young prostitute's murder, there is an abundance of annoying hiss in the audio which is really distracting.

Default Heat 2 Casting

Younger Neil McCauley - Frank Grillo
Younger Vincent Hanna - Oscar Isaac
Chris Shiherlis - Garrett Hedlund

Once I have the book in hand I will have more suggestions. Mr. Mann, you are welcome...

Frank Grillo is older now than De Niro was when he shot Heat.

They could just use a digitally de-aged De Niro for a prequel, it was so convincing in The Irishman…

Though, i've said it before and i'll say it again - That VC-1 from 2009 still holds up like a motherf***er That remains a solid-ass disc.

I don't understand anything Disney does anymore, especially after they've allowed that atrocity of a supposably 4K UHD release of: Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl on the market.

Very nice and the difference between UHD and the 2017 BD based on the same 4K remaster is bigger than I expected. I like it!
