Can’t be that hard for Disney+ to get the originals.

But I guess unless folks complain they won’t know the proper version is wanted.

Wonder how long it'll take for people to watch OUATIW and freak out that Millie Bobby Brown played young Alice lol

I haven’t seen The Simpsons in years - since the the movie - and don’t know if I would get back into it but cropping it to make it look widescreen is daft. It must look horrible.
Comedy Central revived the show years later, but it was still produced by Fox.

They have sex jokes (and a naked bart and homer giving the finger in the movie) and heads getting ripped off in the treehouse episodes on the simpsons on disney plus so that is tame.

A good question, I seem to recall that this was aired on Disney XD in the states, but was suspiciously pulled after 5 episodes.
Content too adult? Japanese culture? Too different from the earlier movies and TV series? Hard to say....but it shouldn't be an issue having it on Disney+ .

As far as Disney+ Original holiday movies go, I thought last year's Noelle was pretty good.

Just watched the Japanese Spider-Man episode of Marvel's 616.

It was surprisingly good. A great look into the making of the show.

Its different, you have a naive fairy god mother in training, come from a medieval setting to the modern world where nothing is the same, there is no use of magic anymore. But then she stumbles, learns and people around her all change becoming empowered. It certainly fits in as a Disney Christmas movie with its ending. Love the Racoon.

“Happy endings can be different things to everybody," said Bell. "And it doesn't need to just be one thing that we see again and again.”

Stitch! Season 3 English Opening / Intro - YouTube
I hope we get Stitch! (from Japan) and Stitch and Ai (from China) eventually. It might have some kind of rights issues, it's a Disney property but it was made by and/or aired on non-Disney networks in their home countries. Stitch! was never fully available in the US, airing only 5 out of 83 episodes (and 5 specials) in the US on Disney XD before getting dropped, and Stitch & Ai only aired 12 out of 13 episodes on DisneyNow and was only available for 6 months.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for Sky High, but maybe they just didn't have a reason to rush since they might think with the new MCU shows coming, people could discover Disney's original superhero movie when they're done.

Netflix had the sky high rights. That's why it took so long.

Interesting news coming out of the EU. From January 2021, all major streaming services will need to carry 30 local content for that particular country. It looks like Disney+ may be ending before it’s truly began outside US, unless they are prepared to bow to the EU.

This rule has not yet been enforced but it’s obviously close.

Could be a very dangerous move. Pinewood Studios is one of the largest in the world. Hollywood can simply say they won't shoot there anymore.

They wont im sure amazon already has the content. Netflix and Disney may just need to add it im sure they will and that will be the end of it.

Netflix will easily pass the law, Disney+ has content that is produced in the U.K. through the ten year deal with Pinewood, so they should be fine. It’s Apple that will be the problem with their very high quota of US only content.

Disney would have a lot to lose by doing so. So would Netflix, both have deals tied up in U.K. (Sheperton studios also) these two studios have produced endless classic films as well as many very recent blockbusters (Bond for example).

Netflix and Amazon have been working towards this goal for two years so yeah, they should be ok. They saw it coming.

30 what? Films? A lot of Walt Disney's live-action films were shot in the UK after WWII because England froze foreign assets and to have access to those funds, the studio had to produce films made in the UK. That's where Treasure Island, The Sword and the Rose, The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men, Rob Roy: The Highland Rogue, and many others came from. They probably already have 30 films in their back catalog shot in Europe. I'm missing data here regarding what this is all about.
